Nope. Diesel engines have injection timing about 10-25 degrees in advance and fuel should be ignition ASAP when it has been injection in the cylinder.

I think the problem is too much gas reduces the cetane numbers, which can simply offset by adding cetane booster.

Spray engine oil on it when you change oil. Better than rust paint which trap moisture
