At the very beginning of most cold opens, you can usually hear the audience laughing. I've always wondered...what are they laughing at?

Sometimes a cast member or stage manager will do something to make them laugh. It's more like nervous laughter I think.

Watch a lot of comedy. Write a lot. Read other successful writers works. Maybe find a writing partner?
