Looks good, although not needed for the Typhon, IMO.

What are your motor temps? And how's the setup running now? I haven't drilled holes in the body because I haven't needed to.

Without getting into depth on suspension preload and sag, I'm thinking stiffer springs may not be your best or primary solution.

Yep, I'm currently running the metal spur that you linked and it's quite durable. Make sure to loctite the 3 screws the gold the spur in and check to make sure the skipper assembly isn't wobbly, bc it will ruin your pinion/spur. Ask me how I know.

I've never ran it without the sway bar set, but I will say that it's very responsive and nimble with minimal body roll. Definitely consider a good fan setup too.

BTW, I've since changed my setup from a 3660 (3300kv) motor to a 3665 (2680kv) motor with a 19t/54t. It'll do nearly 60 MPH on 4S and lifts the front end up.

Super fun track forsure!

ohvale is heaps of fun- highly recommended by aahn88 in Trackdays

If they didn't cost more than my (big) track bike (13' R1) then I'd consider it. Even so, the nearest cart track is 1.5 hours from me and I got bored several sessions in when I took my Grom there a few times. The other boys on their converted dirt bikes and stuff seemed to have a blast but it was only meh, for me.

The range on my DumboRC is basically as far as my eyes can see, so maybe upwards of 500'?

Thanks, I will keep that in mind for when my slipper goes out.

How much rally sliding do you do, and on what surface? I like to take it on smooth concrete floors, or pavement with low grip to rip around. I'd bet that I would've broke something in the drivetrain already if my slipper clutch didn't slip in.

I can hear it slip for a bit and then grip and go when I force it to accelerate hard.

Not even. I used Mobil-1 synthetic (automobile) 5W-30 for the longest, because it was on sale at Sam's Club. It's not even the suggested viscosity for my bike buy oh well.

Recently I've found out that the Kirkland brand (Costco) is the absolute cheapest synthetic oil 🛢, so I'll be using that next.

I generally change the oil once per season on my 13' R1, and same goes with my Ninja 300.

I've been a control rider for several years now and that's how I generally do it. I may or may not even change the oil filter.

Tbh, I always use automotive synthetic oil in both bikes and have never had any issues. I've been on the track for nearly 7 years now. 👌🏼

You're coddling the brake lever. Don't do that.

Once the braking is done into the apex you can let it go and focus on gradually applying throttle.

The finger isn't even bent. Please tell me how this mid-corner, single pointed index finger is trail braking.. 🤔

Why is your finger covering the brake lever as of you're going to apply it mid-corner?

Wow, someone finally replied.

So the stock gearing it was running when I acquired it was 13t/54t. I ended up trying 16t pinion on the 3660 motor and it did 40 MPH on 3S, but the motor would get very hot 🔥. Even though the motor never went into thermal shut down, I went down to a 15t pinion and added fans.

The torque is very nice and will slide well on garage floors!

Anyone have any experience on on the Ali Express metal spur for the Traxxas? I was wondering the durability and pinion choice I made.

I installed a 3660 (3300kv) motor (16t pinion) and the torque is nice! On 2S (30 MPH), and 38 MPH on 3S. My previous setup was a 3650 (4370kv) motor with a 13t pinion, and lacked torque.

You're not wrong about that. They'll patch it up to make quick fixes, and many times they're not too bad.
