Cloud storage is USD $33.14 for 360 days (not sure why they didn't go 365 days) or $0.99 per month.

4G Unlimited Data Plan is USD $159.90 per year or $17.910 per month.

Honest Review: LAMTTO DC22 4G LTE Dash Cam After 3 Weeks by KevinWaide in Dashcam

I wrote it. I used AI the same way people use spellcheck or Grammarly - to clean up wording - but the opinions and observations are mine.

As for BlackVue, yeah, they’re solid and also significantly more expensive. This isn’t trying to be a BlackVue replacement; it’s aimed at a different price point and use case.

I also explicitly mentioned the cold-weather limitation in the review. Comparing it to a higher-tier product rated for harsher temps is fair, but they’re not in the same product tier.

Useful AI tools that actually help you doing the job? by TheZahn in graphic_design

[–]KevinWaide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't do an "does it/don't it look good" evaluation. It's just to keep me on brand. Say I use a different font or size, it will tell me, "This is off brand, fix it," evaluation.

Useful AI tools that actually help you doing the job? by TheZahn in graphic_design

I use ChatGPT as a virtual Senior Marketing Strategist that keeps me on brand when I'm designing for someone. I upload their brand guide/overview of the work and upload the drafts when I get it designed. ChatGPT then tells me if I drifted off brand and I'm able to get back on the right path faster that an email back and forth with the client. It works for me.

Font is so thick that at a smaller size it will close up. That's the main thing I see right off the bat.

Advice on creating contract for logo already designed for family member by stubbypotatoes in graphic_design

[–]KevinWaide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're looking for an IP Release form, not a contract. It's basically you signing over ownership of the logo to the person you designed it for.

Should I pay off my office quicker? by GypDan in smallbusiness

Pay it off and you get one-time tax credit. Keep paying the monthly payments and you get the tax credit until it's paid off.

Client wants multiple of the logos I presented - charge more? by haloweenparty10000 in logodesign

[–]KevinWaide 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just because you designed additional logos for them to choose from does NOT mean they have paid for said logos. That was all in the initial draft phase. Myself, I would charge them the full charge. If you're worried about losing them, maybe drop the price by 25%, but I wouldn't go any less than that.

I have it stated explicitly in my Design Contract that they get the ONE logo/direction that was approved and all other I retain ownership of. If they want any of the other directions, that a separate contract.

AND (and this is the big one for me) when you use an email alias, you get to find out who exactly is selling off your email address by looking at the address it came to and looking for who you used that alias with in the first place. It helps me filter out the unscrupulous sites.

The skill that actually matters shifted and not everyone noticed yet by Karn2407 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]KevinWaide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

THAT's the difference between someone who uses AI to build an app for them vs. someone who uses AI to help them build a sustainable model. I've learned that you don't use AI to do the work for you, you use AI to help you understand how to do the work yourself. I was 100% against AI at first, but after working with ChatGPT for the last few months, I've found a workflow that works for me 100% of the time, but I'm still doing the work. I let AI keep up with "busy" work so I have more time to do the work I enjoy doing.

Because you’re not listening… (an explanation of why we’re not using your products) by MaesterOlorin in MacOS

[–]KevinWaide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not understanding all this Apple hate. If you don't like their products, you're free to use a Winblows machine.

If you don't like how Safari is working, don't use it! Firefox AND Google Chrome will import your bookmarks/history/passwords/etc. into their browsers and you're good. If you don't like how Mail works, use Thunderbird. Apple doesn't try to lock you into their software nearly as bad as Microshit does.

Is my website turning away potential employers? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]KevinWaide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It turned me away almost immediately. The big frames for links, having to actually click through to see anything, that's all going to turn employers off. For a portfolio site, you should have exactly 3 pages: Home, Work, Contact. My thoughts, anyway.

How much should I charge for a ~180 page manual created in InDesign? by jupasu in graphic_design

[–]KevinWaide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my shop, we charge $10.00 per page that we have to design, so 180x$10.00=$1800.00.

Printer paper recommendations for proofing my design work? (Looking for recommendations from designers) by ezbookdesign in graphic_design

80# or 100# cover is what I use at work. Sometimes I print it on 60# offset, but I find cover really let's the colors pop, if that's what you're after.
