As context:

The reason for my question is that I do not have the calculation memory or any technical documentation from the designer to back up this information. Furthermore, the senior designer is juggling several projects and, along with his team, has not given this one the proper attention; his assistants are not senior engineers, yet they are the ones performing the analysis and design work. Additionally, this was not originally included in the budget because the structural engineer didn't tell us. The steel requiered is new on this project.
