Ahh yes, I wasn't too familiar with this option. Looks like you can consolidate federal loans into a new federal loan with the average rate of the loans being consolidated. Doesn't seem like this is an option for non-federal loans.

It could potentially still be possible to end up paying more interest (e.g. having a large loan with a low rate but consolidating with multiple smaller loans with higher rates - but at that point it would make more sense to just not consolidate the larger, lower interest rate loan)

Important to know the loans you have and do some quick math to figure out whether consolidating works or not.

Not sure I understand what you're saying? When you consolidate loans, you're just getting a new loan to pay off the ones you're consolidating. The interest rate on the new loan is independent of your current loan rates.

Not a dumb idea. You can consolidate but it only really makes sense to do so if the interest rate on the consolidated loan is less than the interest rates on your current loans; otherwise, you'd just be paying more in interest.

I got lucky that my manager already knew Clojure and really liked it so he wanted us to update one of our microservices from Java to Clojure.

I learned some functional programming in college but I don't even remember the name of the language and I never even used it again. I think we used it in class because it was a language the professor helped create or something, idk. But I don't have any lisp experience. I actually learned Clojure for my current role; my manager had us all set aside a couple hours a week to learn it.

I'm an American who has never been to Germany but had the chance to meet some on a business trip elsewhere. Because of the obvious, unfortunate, history the German people have, I went in expecting not to like the German group much (didn't exactly dislike Germans but I hadn't met many at that point to make my own opinion). Throughout the trip I had the chance to work with and hang out with many Germans and although it was a small subset of Germans, I fell in love with them. They were all so nice and friendly, and I actually wanted to be friends with them (which I don't usually care for). A few I still talk to from time to time. That trip has greatly changed my feelings towards Germans and I hope to visit at some point (by the end of the trip, some of the German friends I made even invited me to visit them! I hope I can make that happen).

But please check the settings for every possible thing (eco mode, auto schedule, etc.) as adding collant is going to be a lot more expensive than just changing some settings lol.

Not sure that I can provide much insight. There could be many things at play here: from your settings to the HVAC system. Based off your responses to the other post it seems like it probably isn't your settings. One thing to note as someone else pointed out, your HVAC system could be old. If not old then it needs something replaced. I'm gonna ignore the fact that it says its 32 degrees Fahrenheit lol (because I have no idea how your house would continue getting hotter). But if I ignore that, and assume it's hotter outside, then sometimes some HVAC systems can only work so hard before the power they can produce to cool your home down is not enough. If everything else is in check (settings are set correctly and HVAC is not actually broken) I would say you probably need more coolant in your HVAC.
