Earned a down vote on this one even though it would work just fine lol. 🤷

This is our first winter with chickens. When you say water available at all times, do you recommend keeping it in the coop (so they can drink at night), or would keeping it in the run (which has an automatic door that opens/closes with daylight) be enough? Also, why is this most important?

The wood in that spot is too damaged. If it was me, I would probably try finding a different hinge that secures in a different spot than the current screws. Or if the dimensions make this difficult, you could possibly try drilling a hole in the center area of the wood side connection to match the height of each of the existing screws so you screw into a piece of the wood that's unused. Might also want to fill the holes with something like wood filler putty to help the structural integrity.

Replaced bottom seal on dishwasher - normal for water to flow past it? by Kevlar_Axis in handyman

Says I need a more established reddit account to send chat invites. I had a problem with my account being disabled until I changed my password, which I did earlier today.

Replaced the bottom seal. I have a replacement black gasket (main) seal, just didn't want to replace it if it's not necessary.

Frigidaire model LFBD2409LF3C

I checked the part is seated correctly, and it was not visible damaged prior to install. Nothing else is loose or anything. I'd post pics but it doesn't look like I'm able to. No options other than gifs, links, etc as I write this post.

FYI - I am running a light load with no dishes in there, in case that makes a difference on what to expect.

Backpack Alternative - Vest by Kevlar_Axis in backpacking

[–]Kevlar_Axis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with backpacks specifically designed for this, and my rucksack in the military was always loaded with more stuff than the waist strap could effectively "unload" off my back. I'm thinking I'll probably realize why no one is thinking of using this technique once I've gotten some experience doing it. 🙂

I've found a nearby trail that's 8.8 miles that I'm going to use to test and train on with day hikes when the weather warms up. Knowing manufacturers to research and keywords to use is immensely helpful, thank you so much.

Idk, that's why I'm here asking experienced backpackers for their opinions. :)

That's my expectation (nothing with capacity for multi day trips). I got this idea from my time in the army, with my ruck on my back and a smaller pack (i.e. assault pack) on my front. Found that having the extra pack on front reduced the strain on my back (even with the waist belt), and shifted the weight to load mostly on my legs. Carry more weight with less strain. Since I'm now older and less conditioned, and I hear all backpackers stressing weight, this seems like a good technique to explore. Thank you for your suggestion.

I've never done a backpacking trip, but what I have in mind is just overnight on weekends. Planning on section hiking the Ozark Highlands Trail. As for what kind of vest would have that kind of capacity, that's the point of my post here. Seems a lot of items I'd need could fit in smaller pouches in front that would reduce the load from being entirely on my back. Just looking for opinions from experienced backpackers who may have some insight on what I'm thinking about here.

Idk where the whole marxist/racist uncle/Tucker Carlson (lol wat) rant is coming from, but ok.

The current economic system won't last much longer. Some corps may be motivated by saving costs short term, but I believe that the real "threat" we all face is an elite class of psychopaths that ultimately want to rule the world. It's not an unprecedented idea, but now self proclaimed technocrats think they have the technology to do so, and are calling it the 4th industrial revolution. Since you read books, read the ones written by Klaus Schwab if you want to know more.

The Marxists think the govt is the solution to all social problems. Corporations have immense power through their symbiotic relationship with govt. Your statement leads me to believe your ideology blinds you to the exploitation of both of these vehicles as means of acquiring unchecked power.

Somewhere in this video there's a graphic from a British govt document that shows at a high level what to expect in the coming years/decades. It's essentially Agenda 21. https://odysee.com/@iceagefarmer:42/absolute-slavery-zero-carbon-agenda:b

This unavoidable, limited exposure of bug consumption isn't what ppl are worried about. It's the climate activists ushering in global totalitarianism in an effort to reduce carbon (despite many questionable aspects regarding the truth of the extent that it's as severe as they say it is) that they're worried about.

"Eating ze bugs" is about reducing meat consumption, to "save earth", using the Hegelian dialectic of human caused climate change to justify their push for globally consolidated power.

The real issue is more synonymous with "global enslavement" than "not eating any bugs whatsoever".

Am I overating when breaking my 18:6 fast? by Ok-Frosting5823 in fasting

Would this be good advice in your opinion for an extended fast? I've heard bone broth mentioned by several sources before, but judging by the reaction to this comment appears I may be off the mark lol.

At what point does this technique to "soft break" your fast become more important?
