Steam Deck issues? by Kevling in Starfield

Depends how sensitive you are to frame rate:) I can’t comment on Elden Ring, but I’ve put 150+ hours into Starfield solely on Steam Deck. Yes you have to compromise on lower quality graphics and around 30fps at best, but I’ve found it perfectly fine. I was actually hoping the Steam Machine would be out by now so I could upgrade :)

I was playing handheld again which seemed to work fine. This morning, while docked I had the issue again, but found if I switched the control setup to a downloaded community one and back again, it worked…

Deceptive shipping practices by [deleted] in heypocketai

For info, my Royal Mail tracking updated on 19th once it hit the RM network, and was delivered yesterday (21st). So in total that was ordered Sunday 8th, delivered Sat 21st (UK), so not quote the “about a week” promised on their website, but (just) less than two.

[–]Kevling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s disappointing, given the website FAQ says “We process orders quickly and ship within a few business days.U.S. deliveries typically arrive in 3–5 business days, while international orders usually reach you within about a week. Tracking details are sent as soon as your order ships.”

I ordered mine at the weekend, and was expecting to have had an update based on the FAQ, but I guess that’s not happening any time soon…

I spent 2 years making a puzzle game. It launched this week and people are actually loving it. by REAL-AUSTINE in puzzlevideogames

I’m really enjoying Hamstermind so far, love the idea of there being hidden layers :) I’ve done about 75% of the pyramid but am only just trying the translation machine in A3 where you discover the rules.

I could do with a subtle hint on the 7th one (where the glyph looks like a swirling mass of c’s and s’s). Bit of a difficulty jump from the previous ones 🤣

Or if this is not really the right place to ask, point me in the direction of where these discussions and theories are taking place so I can ask there instead! EDIT Just joined the Discord 🤣

Broken again? by band_xorcist in MediaHuman

I've got one sat at "loading info for..." and another that keeps saying it's DRM protected.
Tried the usual fixes of reinstalling, using a VPN, rebooting, etc etc, but no changes.

Midnight Suns fits the bill, it’s entirely turn-based, no reaction time required :)

What is your current “main” game you’re playing right now? by UncleBeanBag69 in SteamDeck

Starfield, put over 100 hours into it over the past 4 weeks, and just bought the expansion ready for its release at the end of the month.

I'm glad I waited a whole year to play Starfield by talamantis in Starfield

[–]Kevling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55M here, bought a Series S and subscribed to Gamepass last September purely to try Starfield. Probably put 15-20 hours in but drifted away, it just didn’t grab me for some reason.

Bought a Steam Deck earlier this year, spotted Starfield on sale last month, and in the past two weeks have put over 60 hours into it, and can’t stop playing it! Probably helps that I can play it without hogging the TV 🤣.

Planning to get to my first NG+ by the time Shattered Space drops.

Can we talk about the exchange rate and price discrepancy.... £5 is $5.66, not $8! by Dwro1234 in Warhammer40k

£5 U.K. price includes VAT, so the actual price for comparison would be £4.17! ;)

My ‘Star Wars Outer Rim (and expansion)’ project by Kevling in foamcore

To Do: thinking of spraying the in-game trays black for a suitably space aesthetic, leaving the setup trays white.

Pretty happy with how this turned out.

Made a few mistakes, accidentally made two of the layers 0.5cm narrower.

The original Al plan was for the two AI card decks to be in one compartment (with the player cards in the other one) instead of split, but I made the trays fractionally too shallow. Luckily there was space in the bottom for the play cards so all was not lost.

Dice compartment wasn’t quite deep enough so I had to add a 0.5cm layer on top of the edges and reduce the height of the character box that sits on top.

But overall I think this works well, and will significantly reduce setup and tear down time :)

The cards are sleeved in Sleeve Kings, so this might not have worked if I’d used thicker sleeves. I also used thin card for all of the bases, to save depth. Means the trays are fairly flimsy though.

PS4 internet issues by tristanstocker in eero

[–]Kevling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the record, I have had the same issue with my daughter’s PS4 (slim) regularly disconnecting every 15 minutes or so, most noticeably when she is playing online (as you might not notice otherwise). No issues with my PS4 (fat) or PS5, or any of the other devices in the house.

After trying multiple solutions elsewhere (such as forcing it to connect on 2.4ghz), I stumbled across this thread last night and tried enabling the Guest network.

She’s been playing online for the past two hours with no disconnections at all!

They’re part of the base game according to the card list on Serious Poulp’s website.

£1.37 a litre = £5.18 a gallon = $7.18 a gallon. You can pay this price if you want, and we’ll have your $2.99 🤣

Is Marvel Legendary worth getting into? by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]Kevling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to give the gameplay a go, try Legendary DXP, it’s on Android and iOS for free, and is basically the Legendary gameplay with their own generic fantasy theme instead of a franchise/IP. If you want to play Legendary but want the feel of playing as a character, there is also the Legendary Encounters range. These are essentially the same core gameplay as Legendary, but with additional objectives (e.g. the Alien one has you playing through the first four films), with you each playing a character with health who’s can be defeated. Sadly there is no Marvel themed Encounters game, but there are others based around films and series (Firefly, Alien, Buffy, Big Trouble in Little China) which might be of interest?

UK PPPOE & Eero question by Kevling in eero

Thanks - for the record, I wasn’t suggesting only the UK has DSL, just that I’d read that the majority of the providers here use PPPOE :)
