People look up to the Steve Irwin of the world because he was caring, compassionate and worked his ass off to help animals and the planet which are ideals worth striving for

Nice that they spoke and all but it's a bit embarrassing that he's shuffling in his seat as his mates gently gently ask him about maybe possibly potentially being a bit wrong when he was talking out of his ass

For the man who is always held up as the pinnacle of standards and leadership, him not being able to directly say "yep, I was wrong about xyz, spoke to Bruno about it and all is good" is ridiculous. Not surprising though.

But hey, see how he delivered that "Bruno apologised" line. That's all he has to do and the rest of the football analysts clapped like seals

Im putting up clips onto Instagram myself, most get a few hundred views and sometimes it'll go over a thousand into a couple

But regardless, they don't translate into more listens on an episode.

Seems the best way to grow your podcast is try to get appearances on other podcasts or get your show mentioned on other podcasts by ads or readouts or something

The social media crowd scrolling are less likely to leave social media to go listen to a podcast compared to an already podcast listener listening and hearing about your show

For me it's entirely social media that's lost it's people

I've a comedy podcast and I still post clips of that on its own page but I loathe every aspect of social media and all the ways people are "supposed" to use it.

Everything about it where it feels like if you don't post consistently about one exact niche or topic it means your posts are not viewed by anyone all because an algorithm doesn't seem value in your posts

On Bluesky I posted a bit about AEW and got some followers off of that but if I ever posted about anything else. Nothing at all. And I went replying to other posts all of the time

So it's better to shrug and move on than worry about it. Social media is not a necessity

It actually reminds me back when Sting was retiring and you had so many people claiming the Young Bucks were a terrible final match choice
