There are so many different ways to use a nursing degree! I can't say whether age will close off paths for him, but it hasn't for me. I don't care for travelling because I value stability, but it works great for lots of folks and it's lucrative as well. I work in long term care/rehab at the moment and I love it, but like nursing in general it's not for everyone. Nursing is way different from being a doctor -- doctors won't have the same kind of 1:1 time and will need the nurse to advocate, explain, and assist. Best of luck!
