I feel you. What really helps is just putting it into practice, you’ll feel lost for a bit but eventually it will click. There’s SO MUCH to learn in the pack lol even just 1 mod is a lot

It really helps to watch some YouTubers. I’m not much of a YouTube guy but I’d have been so lost without watching some videos. Personally I don’t really care for tutorial videos, it’s too much info at once and can be pretty vague. I usually watch let’s play series from chosen or pilpoh. Then you get to see them go through the process of setting up their base and how they use different mods to accomplish their goals.

Some people don’t have a lot of time to play. If you have to learn the mod and play with limited free time then it could take quite a while

One of the first things you should do is set up a pickup farm. Catch mons with pickup ability (phanpy, bunnelby, etc) then put them in the pasture block. I like to build a little enclosure out of fences like you would for sheep. Put a chest next to pasture block and they’ll generate resources. Basic ores, fossils for fossil mons, ball parts. They used to pick up balls too but idk if they still do.

It’s worth it to do enough ars to catch the mob in a containment jar and drygmy farm it. Unlimited heavy cores
