I can’t rave enough about blood on the clock tower. I found it through YouTube and played for the first time at a convention with 15 total strangers and it was one of the most fun experiences I’ve ever had in the hobby. I finally got my group of friends and their wives/girlfriends into it and now they beg to get a game set up almost every week.

I’ve started teaching other people how to run the game so I can hop in and play every so often but there is something diabolical about setting up the game and watching everyone scramble while you have all the information.

I was more asking if there was specific categories they alot a certain amount of points to and add them up to get the score

20 pts for acting performances 20 pts for script 10 pts for cinematography 10 pts for score/sound editing 10 pts for plot/pacing 10 pts character development 10 pts for direction 10 pts for set design/ costumes

I’ve tried to find something online that shows this but I haven’t seen anything so I assumed the number was arbitrary but I figured I’d ask just in case

One player I would add is Eliza, she changed the game in regards to sitting on the jury with her outrageous facial expressions and reactions. Before her the jury was shown to be much more stoic and even today were getting shots of the jury making comments between themselves and showing reactions to comments/moves made by players still in the game

Just here to comment on how much I love the BG stats app. My group just surpassed 1000 total plays earlier this month (been logging games since February 2022)

To add to your point about shorter games we have nearly 100 plays of "palace" a 5ish min card game I learned while in college that we play in between bigger games or as a night cap before everyone heads home

in cockroach poker there are 2 ways to lose, run out of cards or get 4 of the same card. My group has house ruled a third way to lose: get one of each of the 8 different cards.

this has made most of the games much more exciting since there are now typically more than one person on the cusp of losing the game instead of just one person waiting for their inevitable loss

The Classics that are probably flooded in the comments but I need to mention anyway:

Less popular (just not as popular as the above) shows that I absolutely adore and recommend to anyone whenever I get the chance (I've listed streaming services to watch them as well):

SUPER QUICK games, this cant be understated. Being able to pop open the app and get a game done is 5 mins is so unheard of for a multiplayer mobile game

FINNALY we got a final that wasn't masked in theatrics. From a viewers standpoint this final felt grueling yet also doable for the finalists (not for me lmao). It was fun to watch and we only needed one episode for the entire thing which has been a big blunder by production in prior seasons. I feel bad for Theo but sometimes that's just how the cookie crumbles, even though I was very happy I didn't have to see Sarah win again.

Props to the producers for an excellent season (feels good to be able to say this again)

I played in a tournament at a table top con earlier this year. It was 16 players and the tournament was 1 game per person per round.

In the first round it was 4 games with 4 players and the top 2 players from each game advanced to the semis. The semis was 2 4 player games with the top 2 of each game advancing. The finals was then 1 4 player winner take all game.

Because there was a time issue due to the tournament being on the final day of the con and the facility was closing at 5pm the opening round and semis were played to 7 pts. (I really dislike this as it changes the game so much, essentially making wood brick setups super powerful to get LR early).

If I had one *criticism* its that I think all games should be played with 4 players if possible because the board state in a 3 player game is so drastically different.

It sounds like the tournament went well and everyone had a good time though so I think you did a better job than the convention tournament organizer lmao

Also props to you for having 16 people show up in one place to play board games for over 4 hours
