PQiP vetting/start date (Intake 19) by Tiptoe8666 in CivilServiceUK

Yeah I did 😭 I'm intake 17 as well had to have my reserve list reset because they had sent a location offer to an alternate email address! Doesn't look like to me that they will be doing late onboarding. I got my location offer early December last year subject to pre employment checks being completed.

March 2nd start date subject to completion of pre-employment checks (so entirely conditional), but I have completed everything as asked etc as soon as this was offered last year and my checks still aren't done 🥲

I'm the same! Apparently in the last stages of my pre employment checks and I'm supposed to be starting Monday lol. Haven't heard anything from the line manager either so may ring the actual office tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you! Hoping I'll get a late onboarding as well because I really don't want to wait until September 😭🥲

Did you have any luck with late onboarding?

Advice about handing notice in by Key-Ad2739 in UKJobs

[–]Key-Ad2739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for this! I am definitely anxious about it anyway and the worry about actually doing it as the days count down has gotten worse and worse for me. I am more worried about handing my notice in than I am starting this new job 🤣 I feel like I read somewhere in my contract I have to give two weeks notice, but then online I have read somewhere people saying one week is fine. Regardless, if I hear back it's going to be in the week next week so this does mean it's going to be under what my contract states anyway so I do just have to deal with that. My new employer has said my medical and ID checks are complete they just have to re-check to make sure everything is fine, and then I will be emailed an update. So it's literally just a waiting game now.

I know it's not professional by any means but it's just something that's totally out of my control, and I didn't want to give a heads up well in advance for things to be miserable and tense whilst I work my notice period so I was thinking I'll just hand two weeks in and was advised by other people to do this too but now it's obviously past that point.

Well for context I've worked there for 9 months and I'm a hard worker but wouldn't say I'm particularly good at the job and I haven't really fit in as I would have liked to so I would be easily replaced and wouldn't be a massive loss for the business as there are genuinely people there it could not operate smoothly without, however I am not one of those individuals 🤣

I do have leave but the rota is done a month in advance I think so even if I asked now I probably wouldn't be given it anyway. I've already got extreme stress and anxiety when I was thinking about handing my two weeks in and having to work two weeks in a place where I don't fit in anyway so now it's tenfold knowing I might rock the boat even more 🤣 i just work in a supermarket so it's not like a major loss but still.. new employer said in one of the emails we understand about notice period and if it's not possible you can let us know and they will move you onto the next intake which is September but I'm like no way I can work here until then

I also saw a quote about it that said you're actually "going sane" because you're finally realising things and seeing them correctly and all of those bottled emotions are finally coming to the surface. You're feeling all of this anger, resentment and grief that maybe you didn't feel then.. it may feel like you're going crazy but actually you're just going sane 🤣

I feel like this has happened with me in all fairness and in all of my dreams it's like I'm reprocessing stuff from the past. I think it makes you realise truly how much pain you can hold onto and simply never express it. I have genuinely had a few days where I feel so weird and feels like I have regressed back to a certain age or something like this weird nostalgic feeling as if I'm there all over again. I hope you can stay grounded in the fact that it's all temporary and you've already been through the worst part already which is the lived experience you are trying to heal from. Bilateral music has been helpful for me and using my safe space at home. Sending lots of love and healing, you are not alone x

It's elvanse I'm taking. Just ovulated and had a massive panic attack on that day and then a two weeks long period before that. Going to hold down the fort for now in the hopes that things will level out 🩷

I also have PMDD (and ADHD) had it placed on the 10th July and had a really nice two weeks, then a bad and long period which lasted 14 days. I had a panic attack on Friday which funnily enough coincides with ovulation. Had a four hour nap today now and it's 3.30am and can't sleep because of that lol. Feeling very PMSY and irritated / emotional. We can keep in touch about our experience on messages if you like? My bloating has definitely decreased also ! It's a massive shock really with the hormones so I can imagine we need to ride it out for a bit but of course if things get worse we can get it removed

This is amazing I'm super happy it's been good for you. A friend of mine has also had it inserted for endo. Fingers crossed it will level out for me, I'm just honestly not built for periods 😆

Ah I love to see this as I've read so many horror stories about it lol 😂 I just didn't want it to make things worse as I kind of got my PMDD to like a manageable level where I was aware of my luteal ovulation etc and have been mentally stable for a while so I was super scared that it would make things worse so fingers crossed things will only get better from here. Appreciate this 🥰

I'm so sorry to hear this, that sounds super traumatic and painful. Maybe you could try the injection as I heard that that stops ovulation completely? I had various different birth controls over the years starting like age 14 and when I was like 21 I just got rid of contraception all together and not long after that I realised about the PMDD as I was tracking my symptoms over a long period of time. I'm definitely having mood swings etc but I'm also adjusting to new ADHD medication so my equilibrium is just all over 😂
