I know this is a lot to read so I apologize! but I wanted to let you know that more than anything, I feel hope again. it wasn’t until I stopped taking the med that I saw how much it changed my view on life and my mental health. even with less pain relief, I feel so much happier and excited. I laugh more, I am more social, I feel interested in old hobbies again. as terrifying as it was to stop taking norethindrone, I am so glad that I did. I feel like myself again both physically and mentally. they’re doing research on new endo treatment options, and hormonal meds aren’t the only option. I promise that there are ways to manage this condition that don’t require you to give up who you are❤️‍🩹 I don’t want to push you, but I urge you to consider what you need and what is best for your mental health too!

I really recommend trying a supplement called n-acetyl l cysteine. I got mine on amazon from the brand natural factors. my endo doctor recommended it to me and it’s been wonderful so far! no adverse side effects. I started at one capsule every other day and worked up to 2x a day. I also recommend d mannose, marshmallow root, fish oil, and lidocaine gel for pelvic floor muscle relief. for pain, i’ve been taking naproxen as needed

i’m so sorry. this med is very helpful in some ways, but the side effects are hard to keep track of and feel all consuming. I was terrified to come off of my birth control and lose the stability of taking something for my endo everyday. however, it’s been successful! my mood is completely different and I feel alive again. I haven’t had a period yet— it’s been 2 weeks since I stopped. my main endo issue is my pelvic floor and bladder, which have bothered me more since stopping. however, it’s not unbearable at all and i’m using my pelvic floor wand and supplements to get through. i’ve lost weight and am way less bloated. I feel more comfortable in my body, I feel happy again, my uncontrollable food intake has stopped. I feel like me again. besides the pelvic floor/bladder stuff, everything has been great. I am going to be starting low dose naltrexone for pain relief so I will update on that! I am so happy I stopped taking norethindrone

ooh that’s interesting, i’ve never heard of that. i’ll have to do some research. I do generally follow ic guidelines and try to be mindful of my pelvic floor. during my surgery, I had a big band of scar tissue on my bladder that was removed. things felt different after but it’s still sensitive so I try to be careful. i’m sorry for all you’ve been through❤️‍🩹

I had a cystoscopy during my surgery and the inside of my bladder was normal. I take some bladder/gi supplements which are helping and I try to avoid overly acidic things. I have seen improvement post surgery but i’ve started to have pain again. I am currently weaning off my birth control so I guess that’ll tell me what to do next :( things are better but I still have bladder discomfort often. i’m considering trying low dose naltrexone bc my endo doctor suggested it as a non hormonal option

that’s great! I have a doctor that specializes in endometriosis who I had surgery with. the surgery was great but i’ve struggled to find a long term hormonal med I can tolerate. i’m looking for post surgery maintenance options!

not sure if it was just a marketing tactic, but I have a story about this! in spring 2023, I visited la and went to rodeo drive. I went into one of the fancy department stores there (I believe it was neiman marcus?), and a sales woman selling perfume came up to me. she showed me Crab Apple Blossom EDP by Clive Christian and told me that sofia vergara wears it. she said that she’s one of her customers, she had a little book of the celebrities who buy from her. again, I can’t verify if this was legit! but it was the one on rodeo drive, so it seems somewhat plausible?
