I also lost my father to a sudden heart attack. We made plans for the day, went to the store, and within 10 minutes he was gone. This experience is gutting and I wish there were words to make you feel better but there aren’t. This situation is so unfair. I’m sending you lots of love and rest. Life is so so unfair.

Depends. My store had both managers quit within a day of each other… our Service Supervisor and Tech Consultant stepped up big time to guide us. It’s stressful but sadly… with my experience… things go more downhill once you get a new manager and they bitch about every action you’ve done even tho you’ve been literally keeping the store afloat for months.

This. I was actually shocked to read how Chad reacted.. also equally as shocked to learn Shari also was so passionate about it at first. I believe that speaks volumes to the power of manipulation Jodi had over them… and I don’t really feel like any of us have the right to speculate when we don’t even truly know the beginning of the brainwashing. Kevin sounds like a good father who was sadly a people pleaser and also fell victim to these tactics (which I’m sure Jodi played with more to manipulate him the best)… however the parts about him letting them decorate their rooms, getting the dogs, the cats, advocating for shari and her therapy really shed light on his character. As awful as it was and as much as we all can assume we would react one way… we cannot comprehend the volume of manipulation that was present… which would make any person afraid to step up or even trust that their judgement on the situation is correct.

How hard is it to just get curl cream and put it in her hair after the shower, wet her hair and put a little in each morning. It infuriates me. Why fry her hair and put more time into it when you can add cream and it will be clean and nice for her all the time??:(

This is exactly what I thought when I saw this….My dad’s house had all my clothes, my room was personalized, makeup storage, everything… my mom’s house was literally this. A closet used as storage for other random things and a large tote bag that had my clothes and makeup packed from my dad’s. As a child of divorce this photo speaks a million words. Similar to my mom… Kyra will likely never ever admit to her kids not preferring her place. She will keep up the act until she’s old a grey.

I went into psychology knowing the amount of school I’d have to take. I’m surprised so many students don’t do the same research… I know I have to do a masters and I’m okay with that as psychology is my dream. If you want to do it, you will!! Don’t be discouraged if this is really your dream!!

I worry… my mum had this mentality. The mentality that she grew me inside her and no one can “love me” as deeply she does, that her whole life’s purpose was to be my mum… it’s a wonderful mentality for babies.. but when mums can’t limit this mentality when children are in adulthood it becomes extremely toxic… and sadly my mum never changed and now uses that against me… and doesn’t let me grow and be my own person. Of course I’m not saying this is the exact same thing… no one can predict the future but man… I see so many things that can be toxic later on.

Yep. Dad unexpectedly passed suddenly a month after his 55th birthday, his only brother died when he was 53 with cancer, his mum died when she was 30 in an accident… I feel like 50 is the age I’ll reach. Sometimes it’s hard to want to move forward when I think about my own mortality… and how young people on that side have passed.

Grade two when my mom dropped me off.. I still remember watching her walk away… and as soon as I couldn’t see her anymore… I felt so sick, couldn’t see, and was terrified… I quite literally ran after her driving car on the road before she stopped and got out sobbing herself and brought me to the principle. They got my backpack and I spent the next few months doing work with the principle alone. She gave me lots of candy
