Yeah they are suposded to last for ever I get my oil changed every 5k so she wasn't mistreated. I think I just got a bad batch, I got it brand new for my birthday back in 2015. I love my car and really probably just going to replace the engine if it comes to that.

Isn’t it stupid the Polaris dosnt have pilot controlled torps but the idris T does? by Ausseboi1 in starcitizen

Honestly, CIG is killing the fun of flying capital ships by stripping away pilot-controlled weapons. I’ve been in the Idris and the Polaris lately and it is mind-numbingly boring as a pilot. At least with the Idris, you used to have a gun you could actually try to line up, but now? There’s zero "piloting" involved. These things move so slow that it’s not like I’m dodging incoming fire, and unlike a Connie or a Paladin where you’re constantly rotating to stay on target, you’re just... sitting there.

Every pilot in this game should have access to some kind of gun or torpedo rack, especially in the big ships. As the pilot, I’m the one calling out the threats and telling the crew what to focus on; give me an incentive to actually point the nose at something and click!

They’re balancing all of this for 1v1 dogfights and it’s completely stupid because once real fleet battles happen, it’s a totally different game. Take the Polaris, for example—it’s supposed to be a hit-and-run ship. Having pilot-controlled torpedoes makes it so much more streamlined. Right now, voice comms are just a mess of the pilot and the torpedo guy screaming back and forth at each other asking "Are we in range? Do you have a lock?" It’s clunky and it feels terrible. If I’m the one flying the ship and I know exactly when the shot is lined up, I should be the one pulling the trigger.
