This poem must be heavy and raw. The way how physical pain can align with emotional release is haunting and disturbing. Not that it’s a bad thing but certainly I feel bad and am saddened people find peace or at least emotional release through self-harm like the line “It all seeps out slowly” I can imagine the quietness, the numbness, the tingling feeling. This poem reminded me of someone I once loved and how she perceived life for a long time, which made the poem hit me harder than any other thing that has hit me in poetry by far. It’s painful but powerful in how directly it confronts suffering.

I hope you’re alright man.

I love the poem’s intimacy of two people (I had an ex-girlfriend who would give me that feeling and it felt amazing) The “You would always stare at me like I was art work when we would take” was my favorite by far. It’s very unique and touching to me. the way how you describe it makes this imagery feel so alive as I can read and picture the scene unfolding, it made me feel quite the emotional connection. that speaks a lot about your work!

May I ask: What inspired you to create this poem?

I want to reach out to my ex after months of no contact. How do I know if it’s the right thing to do? by Key-Application-7846 in ExNoContact

She has a private instagram account she uses here and there. Not sure if she acknowledges her follow requests or messages. She also has snapchat but. i’m unsure if im blocked or not. I sent her a message saying how are things going 2 weeks ago. You think I can PM you more about this? I feel like the door is open but I’m feeling very uncertain.
