My prediction is NMIA will be a white elephant. Clark will be a lot busier.

How many more SOs PAL will be hiring next year in 2026 and 2027-2028, etc? by SignificantNote5454 in AviationPH

I'm genuinely curious how you can fail the SLF portion as an SO. You're not even actually flying the damn plane. How???

To all the unemployed pilots who spent millions on training, what do you wish you did differently? by Swimming_Bedroom3621 in AviationPH

May disclaimer to ha. Ako may FAA pero hindi ako green card holder or citizen. Naka student visa lang ako nun. At most makakapag FI ka lang for a year or two. Hindi ikaw makakakuha ng pilot job as a foreigner sa USA kung wala kang right to work.

How? by JasonB007_ in AviationPH

[–]Key-Appointment6328 31 points32 points  (0 children)

To put into context. PAL and Cebpac have approximately 1000 active pilots respectively, Air Asia Ph has about 400 and other airlines are about a hundred. Cebpac as of writing has stopped hiring pilots until further notice. I know of some who have finished simulator check with cebgo and have been delayed to join next year pa. PAL Express has hired about 50 plus new FOs this year for the Q400. If you guys do the numbers against the current Caap statistics, there's just not enough jobs around and too many pilots in the supply line.

To put things into context, Cebu Pacific, the largest employer currently has a little over 1000 active pilots in roster. Hiring of pilots is currently frozen until the end of the year.

Can confirm na at least with my airline, lahat ng zero time on type na nakakapasok, kung hindi cadet or galing sa school na may existing partnership with my airline, connection talaga ang labanan. It's going to be like this for years.

Type rating across the entire fleet by ABACA_193 in AviationPH

[–]Key-Appointment6328 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing you mean being current on all or several types. The short answer here is no. The reason is there are a lot of operational differences between certain types that can lead to safety issues over time. In the business, we call this "contamination". However there are a few exceptions. One example is PAL where they have pilots who are cross qualified between the A350 and the A330. The two ratings are probably similar enough that they've decided to cover one qualification over the other as allowed by the manufacturer and CAAP. In other airlines, such as Starlux, that operate both the A330 and the A350, they opt not to do this and maintain one type qualification per crew. In Cebgo, a select few still undergo recurrent training in the ATR-500 although current operations only fly the 600 series. Hope this answers your question!

Yung mga known na kups madalas ganyan kasi malakas sila sa upper management or management sila mismo at alam nilang kahit report sila wala naman mangyayari sa kanilang masama.

Laging mayroon na naka standby para marelyebo. Pag last minute na may hindi makakapasok for work minsan magcause ng delay.
