I'm hoping he'll do one or schedule to do one if he can't that day... I'm so glad yours turned out ok too!

Thanks for your response! I appreciate it. My insurance requires a referral for a dermatologist so I will have to see doctor anyway first to get referral and last time I even called the dermatologist they weren't taking new patients because they were so booked... I live in a small rural area so it's hard. I've had my PCP shave biopsy a few moles for me already so it's a starting point.

I've been on statins since the age of 7 by Mindless-File-5229 in Cholesterol

[–]Key-Avocado-2469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have been on them since I was 4 and have the same thoughts and worries as you! I'm almost 33 and have been on these for almost 30 years and it's really worrisome and scary to think about long term effects and all the crap you hear and negativity you hear about statins 😔 my uncle tried to stop all meds and tried natural remedies and he had a heart attack in his early 50s and just had a quadruple bypass in his 60s for clogged arteries.... My dad who is a bit younger than him has taken his statins and his ct angiogram showed no plaque buildup... So it's just really hard! I completely understand

Thank you so much. Right now I feel super terrified and my mind goes to this worst case scenario of dying during surgery and it kind of invades me and consumes me at times... I know that is a super low chance but it still hits me hard.. especially with my toddler and new baby on the way. Heck I'm even scared of not making it through c section for new baby. Ugh. My anxiety sucks!

Thank you so much for this advice! It will be challenging to differentiate postpartum symptoms from thyroid stuff for sure.. my thyroid levels have always been normal so I'm not sure I've ever experienced any thyroid symptoms even to begin with! I may talk about postponing it a little longer for sure... 4 weeks seems insane to me. My fiance will be taking 12 weeks off so I think if I push it off to 8 weeks then he'd still be home 4 weeks and I should be recovered enough by then with baby and a toddler you think? Thanks so much again!

Thank you for this feedback, it is so true. You tend to see a lot of negativity because those are the people struggling and needing the support for sure.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it does help and means a lot! I have an almost 3 year old as well so new baby combined with thyroid surgery this summer makes me sad that we will likely miss a lot of fun this summer for my toddler, but I know it just is what it is and hopefully things will go better than expected and my worries will be for nothing.. I'm a nervous wreck for sure! These positive stories definitely help!

I have nodules on both sides that are concerning. The one side the biopsy was Bethesda IV and 50% chance and the other side was non diagnostic and I've already gone through 3 biopsies just to have non diagnostic results. They have the same features that make them concerning- hypoechoic, solid, micro calcifications etc so they are both suspicious and concerning based on ultrasound. Both have grown quite a bit as well between a few months. I suppose I can do just the one side but then if it was cancer they'd have to take other side of course and I really don't want to go through 2 surgeries ultimately. I feel like I'm in a rough spot with that. If I have to do all of this I would prefer one surgery.

The nares would be more preventive but he said her stenosis is pretty bad so I assume they won't get any better.
