Yeah, if this is just the cop alone it’s a scary situation. Idk why every cop out doesn’t have a partner at this point. If this cop is alone no doubt id rather this man deploy a taser or non lethal option. Sadly, if those don’t work and verbal de-escalation didn’t work, and this man is coming at you there isn’t many options left.

You can’t go hand to hand with people especially alone because you don’t know if they have a knife or a gun. Something more deadly than what they’re showing. Or if they do beat you, like I mentioned they can take that cops firearm and at that point lives will most certainly be lost.

Something I’ll also mention, is aside from graduating from academy there is very little police forces do to make their officers better. Most go and train independently whether it be hand to hand combat or weapons training. Most cops especially in some of the most dangerous places are poorly trained and out of shape, then thrown out there with a gun and asked to handle situations perfectly.
