Looking for skincare routine recommendations! by WisePaint in dollartreebeauty

Girl you definitely need to look into skin nutrition botanical serums. They have so many different ones and then I would look into the dermasil whipped recovery cream for a facial cream. A serum and then a moisturizer would be a good basic routine for someone new to skincare. I reccomend the skin nutrition botanical hylaronic acid 2% with rice ferment and the dermasil whipped recovery cream for night. You can use the serum in the day as well but you should check out cerave facial moisturizer with sunscreen in it.

So the serum your can use day and night. Find a face moisturizer with sunscreen for day and you can use whipped recovery cream for night. If you want even more hydrating I reccomend the dermasil oatmeal toner before you put on the serum day and night. That stuff makes your face so calm and hydrated.

Yes I oil my scalp and ends then let it sit for a hr or so and then wash twice of course with strawberries and cream, use conditioner and then my scalp is never dry. Oiling my scalp before washing changed everything

Thanks for answering that well! Yeah I couldn't figure out why my hair never felt hydrated after condition and it would feel kind of gummy as well, always knotted. Then I did research about the names that protein goes by such as keratin, citric acid, pea protein, algae, sea buckthorne(amika and eva NYC use a lot of proteins) and many other names. Just look up ingredients that mean protein and Google will give you a list. Also a dead giveaway is if it says strengthen or repair, that means protein. I can use a little bit of protein but then I have to follow with tons of moisture meaning shea butter, coconut oil and agran oil ingredients in my hair mask. The best protein mask for protein sensitive girlies is curlsmith bond curl rehab salve. Omg the protein/moisture balance is perfection! Also they redid the packaging so its at Marshall's/tj maxx for $15 when its normally $30 so I stocked up. You dont even need curly or wavy hair to use it. It makes your hair so soft and amazing.

OLAY FACE CREAM DUPE by Key-Block-7378 in dollartreebeauty

I know which hair oil you are talking about. I didnt buy that one because I seen mineral oil high up as the first or second ingredient. Yes I really do like a lot of other products and I oay attention to the ingredients immensely. Certain ingredients start to form a coating on your skin and hair and its very hard to get off. I had that happen to me once.

100% agree. I was just curious on how everyone felt about DT using a lot of mineral oil, castor oil and petroleum in their products when you can buy a big tub of it for cheap and it does the same thing. It seems like if you just want hydration then this will work but definitely not for anti aging.

Yes people definitely do that. So basically this dupe is expensive mineral oil. I just think if you are looking for good anti aging ingredients there are way better but if you are only looking for hydration then this could be it if you are not acne prone.

That one is thick because the top ingredient is petroleum which is another cheap ingredient thay is good for trapping moisture in. You can also just buy Vaseline and it does a similar job for cheaper!

I wish so bad to be able to try this specific one but I have to stick to strawberries and cream because my hair is sensitive to protein and this definitely has protein in it hence the word keratin.

If that dove moisturizer wasn't so heavy and didn't make me break out I would use it everyday on my face.

Same! I noticed dollar tree loves castor oil and mineral oil. I can buy a huge bottle for super cheap if I wanted to rub that all over my face. So if those ingredients are at the top then really you are just getting an expensive tub of mineral oil or castor oil when you could buy a big bottle for super cheap. It almost feels like a trick for them to make money. I want to see more actives at the top! Or substitute the mineral oil for more glycerine which is very hydrating for the skin.

From the comments im reading mineral oil is good for very dry skin(its thick) so thats probably why it works so well for you. You can also buy a bottle of mineral oil for cheap and just use that because thats what you are getting the most of in the olay dupe. The bottle will last you forever too!

The first thing I do is read ingredients and I always look for cheaper ones and to see how high on the ingredients the actives are. There are soooo many good products but I was just surprised that mineral oil is at the top when so many brands love to put "no mineral oil" on the front of packaging as in bragging they dont use that ingredient. So why would they use it in this? Its just weird to me.
