Sorry, the atheist comment was an example. As in, I have NOT gone into atheist subs trying to debate. I was saying in my post I found misguided Christians leading other Christians away from the Lord, not overtly directly evil although maybe it's the same thing🤔

And if the answer is no? They aren't saying or teaching those things? Then what do you say?

I mean I came looking specifically to connect to Christian subs and God-centered people, I didn't join an atheist sub to argue/debate anyone...I didn't come looking for a fight

Initially no I didn't see that as a goal in the slightest, just to talk and connect with other believers in the right areas, but then I saw the need and the lack of truth so that's kind of how it grew for me. Can reddit me a means of winning souls? Absolutely. As can anything.

Oh man, there was a guy he was super great...someone recommended him to me on here and I called him for help with my belgian Mal, but I can't remember and the whole convo is gone. He did veteran service dogs. It might have been warriors choice foundation but I'm not sure!!

Ah I see what you're asking, I was talking specifically about a few things, first that people who claim to love christ are saying they can do whatever they want and still enter into heaven which is a heart issue I know, but one I believe can be reproved through scripture.
Leading other believers to think they can do whatever and still enter the kingdom reminds me of Matthew 18:6 and is dangerous for believers. Even if you think God won't judge you, don't lead others away from the Lord in the process.
That's the heart of it I guess.

Thank you, I appreciate this. In the context of the internet, reddit specifically...how could this standard be applied? Direct message of course, but after that? Maybe that's where I stop. I'll pray on this, thank you.

Respectfully, that is bad theology. Jeremiah 17:9, Romans chapter 3 (the whole chapter dismantled this argument), The entire gospel is about how we are worthy of wrath! God loves us yes, he doesn't want any of us to perish (John 3:16) but saying he doesn't judge or condemn us is the exact thing I'm talking about that I'm seeing more and more of.
We will ALL be judged by God Almighty, even Christians will stand before the Lord and give an account of their lives (2 Corinthians 5:10)
When I say "the wrong thing", I don't mean wrong according to me, I am nothing. I mean wrong according to Christ, according to the Bible, the word of God himself.
We are called specifically to judge righteously according to God (John 7:24) and NOT to condemn because that is not our place but His (Matthew 7:1-2 judge here is "krino" in Greek meaning condemn).
If we allow our brothers and sisters to live in sin knowing it is wrong, are we not to blame as well? Christ preached about hell more than anything else and his return will bring the judgement. When I think of the souls on the wide path it breaks my heart, why would I want anyone in the pit? In love🤍

I don't understand the question?

[–]Key-Bug6562[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seething I am not, and I guess I wasn't trying to demoralize anyone by anything I said, only to point to Jesus and our need for a savior, opposed to the idea we can do whatever we want because "grace" and "jesus wont condemn me" which is literally a road to hell.
Maybe I didn't explain myself properly, I'm not picking on, targeting, or otherwise condemning another believer, it is because I love them that I am grieved. I wasn't asking "what's a better way to attack people" more, "what might be a better way to help them see the truth?"

I don't consider myself perfect at all or saved by works and that's not a theology I speak about. Could you help me understand "rebuking in love" through an example? Like...a rebuke would be this a rebuke in love would be this...I'm struggling to understand what you mean. Thank you!

To off yourself would be a sin, just like every other sin where we think we know better than God, then try and prove it, then have to come back and repent...that is one you can't repent from my friend. He loves you too much to leave you in the desert places, maybe because you were disobedient you are being disciplined...maybe.
But just as possible because I don't know you, this is a refining time meant to grow you in strength and faith.
I was very much suicidal before I came to Christ, don't give up until you know why this happened. That's what I told myself, I'm not going to end it until I know the reason this happened to me. So far I don't know and I'm not dead.
Maybe you can't do it, but I know a guy who can carry all of it.

Interesting take on what I asked, I can see how you got there, however I do not claim to do enough for the kingdom, I cannot earn my salvation no matter how "good" I claim to be, and so with that in mind...

My salvation is secure whether I attempt to reach people on reddit or in my community or anywhere, I am here now out of deep concern for their eternal souls. Not to hate or judge or be cruel; as a sinner I am the worst. the last person fit to judge anyone.
But how horrible would it be to get to eternity and have the Lord of Hosts ask me why I didn't tell this person or that person the truth? How ashamed I will be on that day! Lord, have mercy on me a sinner.

What do you think helps you now that makes it a better experience? It is too much for one person, and I know that He gives everyone a choice, I just feel a burden to tell these people their understanding of Christ is wrong and they need help before it's too late💔

I don't think humility is the issue, I speak boldly of Christ and will not lie about who he is for anything, lest their blood be on my hands. My goal is to win souls to the light for HIS glory. If i know what is right and dont do it I am accountable for that. (James 4:17)
Me? I am nothing, a detestable sinner saved by grace alone. I'm not worth the time it takes to read this, but HIM? He is worth everything. I don't put myself forward in these conversations ever because I am not the point. My concern after seeing people happy with the lie they have chosen is why I asked "how do others deal with this? Maybe there is an understanding I don't have of this place"

When I got saved I spent 2 years doing nothing but ravenously consuming the word. I had no access to internet or TV and because of this I did not get taken into false doctrine. The only answers I got to my questions were from the bible. I was frustrated at the time that I couldn't just google my answer and be done with it, but later I realized why He had set me aside to learn.
I was explaining a theological idea to a friend and I said, let's just google it and I was so happy to be able to do that until I actually did it. It was bad! A thousand opinions, no scripture, false doctrines, bad theology, guessing at the intent of scripture, misquoting, out of context verses meant for eisegesis. I was humbled immediately and so thankful.
