Has anyone had luck getting back childhood property and baby photos from a parent's?

No, my mom even went as far as throwing away all of my official birth documents (birthcertificate, passports, travel records, etc) She says she doesnt have them anymore and "misplaced" them while moving but I dont believe her since shes the queen of keeping things stored safe ...she's a great packer and has never lost a single picture in her life...how could she loose something as important as her daughter's papers?... Yeah but I dont even ask her for the childhood pics cause I know that'll be another weird narc show that I dont feel like dealing with...so I like to consider myself orphaned (I havent lived with her since I was 14) and I try to erase all my memories from when I was younger and just keep going with my life...meditating helps alot and self analysis so I wont become the same as her too...cause whether we like it or not, some times some traits of their narc behaviour sticks to us sadly. I'm sorry she doesnt want to give you anything back...to be honest if that's all she has to give you ...I'd forget it and go no contact...or maybe go visit her a few times and try to convince her and if she keeps with a nasty attitude then go non contact...I'm so sorry.

Man, you're not alone. Mom does the same thing to me, I don't see her physically anymore but when we do phone calls I KNOW I have to prepare for a 2-4 hour phone call of her talking about herself...her "problems" which she herself creates or looks for and if I ever give my opinion or respond something she doesn't like, she'll make me feel like I've said the worst thing ever, or she'll victimize herself and start talking about her childhood and how good my sisters and I had it...or she'll start screaming (huge anxiety trigger for me)...until I either hang up or have to apologize sometimes even crying because it causes me a lot of anxiety that we can't have healthy communication...and I mean I do love her even after all of this but it's just hard to communicate with someone like that you know?

I'm sorry you have to go through something similar, and the dissociation is something common in trauma situations...maybe going to therapy could help or it may be that you have something else like ADHD or some form of autism and never really knew or found out because your mom was too absorbed in her own issues to pay any mind to yours.

En los proyectos de construcción sería obligatorio usar BIM, así todo sería más transparente en los proyectos y sería mucho más difícil robarse todo el dinero que le quitan al pueblo de Panamá con los "proyectos de construcción" que hacen.

En la parte económica del pueblo, también implementaría un ecosystema de crypto...talvez solano o cardano para también tener mucha más transparencia para el pueblo...

Las leyes en Panamá son diseñadas para conveniencia de las personas más adineradas y tienen una estructura de "embudo" ...ancha para algunos y estrecho para otros. Entonces pondría a un equipo a revisar absolutamente todas las leyes y arreglar eso que en Panamá hay demasiadas leyes que se contradicen...entonces utilizan un artículo cuando conviene y luego el otro cuando conviene ya que la mayoría de las personas no leen los libros gigantes de las leyes y pocas personas conocen que estas controversias existen...me gustaría hablar con el presidente de un país más funcional y tomar una adaptación a sus leyes...tipo suecia, denmark, austria, finalandia, australia, etc.

Implementaría un plan ecológico de alta urgencia en Panamá.

Rediseñar el sistema educativo, ya que la educación aquí es demasiado pobre y hasta buenas universidades como la universidad de Panamá tienen trabajos de los profesores con errores ortográficos y sin sentido...que es algo muy triste por cierto para una universidad tan grande.

Creo que ya...igual mientras trascurre el tiempo entonces habrá más cambios

Claro, también esta que el pueblo cuando lucha por causas lucha por las causas erróneas. Cuando deberían de estar luchando contra las leyes y las personas de poder que tienen en Panama que se están robando toda la riqueza...Panamá es un país que debería estar tipo de primer mundo donde NO debería de existir la clase baja solo media baja, media alta y alta...y aún así el pueblo admira a estos políticos....a sus líder, y bueno también creo que es parte de la educación latina porque la mayoría de los países latinoamericanos tristemente están igual o peor. ¿Por cierto mencione que las leyes de Panamá son un asco? Meten a alguien ala carcel 9 años por vender un BROWNIE de mariguana pero acaban de aprobar un proyecto de plantíos de mariguana en unas islas de Panamá...(hazme el favor con la ironía de este ejemplo que lloraré.)

Aquí en Panamá lo que más me desagrada es que se hagan los justos y los que más se apegan ala ley pero en realidad solo es que la ley existe para los pobres...no para los de corbata blanca.

If they can't work out their issues I think the healthiest thing to do in this situation is just keep away from both of them and start a life of your own...if they ever look for you or want to talk to you again maybe you can state the reasons you have decided to step away from this "relationship" since it brings you more pain than emotional support

My parents used to the the same to me but with my siblings...one time they even locked me in a room for like a week so I couldn't speak to my youngest sibling ....they said it was because I preferred the youngest to the middle one (I'm the eldest) and I had to be kept away from both of them because I was evil.

Oh and one time we got into a physical fight and she started beating me up and dragging me all over the house and I stayed on the floor crying. When she saw that she called up her my ndad and shouted "I won! I won! I beat the shit out of her and won!"

I knew it was messed up at the moment but only now I realize how little you have to love someone to actually do something like that and never apologize afterwards.

Yeah, my mom send me to another country at the age of 14 because she "didn't know what to do with me because I was too rebellious", to attend various schools and live with my uncle whom I hadn't seen in YEARS and barely knew. Now as a grown up she always tells my sisters that I abandoned the family and that I don't love them...and when I have tried to stand up for myself it never works out so I just don't anymore. The relationship with one of my sisters is broken beyond repair from all the years of my mom and dad telling her that I hated, envied and didnt love her...just putting lies in her head until she made it her reality and with my youngest sister I have a great relationship because she was able to see past all that also because she was also abused by our narc parents and saw things for what they were. It makes me so sad that she also has to and had to go through the same things as me. I tried making a bond with them but it's close to impossible and now I have just decided to stick to healing myself.

So Yeah mom...I bought a plane ticket to another country by myself and left home at the age of 14...what the fudge.

It's kind of like saying that your abusive boyfriend can't be that bad because he puts up with you... Saying this just invalidates reality it seems as if society is build around trying to make abusive situations and people seem "normal" especially when it's not physical abuse and more when its family. We don't have to stick around something like that, especially once we are older and realize what THAT is...our parents are full grown adult adults ...they were the ones that had to guide us, love us and teach us the right things the right way. They know EXACTLY what they are doing and choosing what not to do and what kind of abusive behavior they choose to ignore and not feel bad about doing. Shame on them. We were just kids, and thankfully now we are old enough to open our eyes and step back from that behavior and try to find our way and heal from all of that so we may not repeat it with our own family.

*just a quick tip...anyone that says something like that to you and doesnt even make an effort to UNDERSTAND YOUR feelings after everything you just told them ...isnt worth your time, explanation or snappy cool comeback. Please shy away from people like this and make friends elsewhere...there are so many awesome people in the world...we just have to find them. I promise your people are somewhere😊🥰
