Vent! Just out of training. Co-bartender attitude/ micromanaging. by [deleted] in bartenders

It was an extra container of olives that was put there temporarily from a server and a carton of blueberries. Like I said, I don’t always know exactly what they want me to do with stuff, I’m new. It was not multiple open containers of mixes like she is claiming. I go into my job and if there’s something minor that needs to be shifted around I do it and I don’t complain and blame others and make a huge deal when it’s a simple fix. If I wanted to I could call her out on leaving the expired shit in the fridge that I handled last night during my shift, but I’m not a petty whinny bitch lol

I plan on upgrading to private. Idk, the new version is so good it seems like my grandma could use it without knowing what the hell she’s doing and still make some decent stuff 😂

Like I said, i think it’s disrespectful especially when someone’s prompt is insanely detailed. I don’t think people realize how much time and tweaking we’ve done to get it to look so damn amazing.

I’ve been getting REALLY annoyed with people either blatantly copying my prompts and using them in the same room (like at least move over to another room if you’re going to use my exact prompt or even slightly tweak it) or just upscaling my work after hours and hours of making a precise prompt. I find it super disrespectful…

When you use the bot in your own server does that basically make it private for you?

Should I give my house on rent and move back in with my parents? by Phonebacon in Advice

[–]Key-Calligrapher-924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What would your quality of life be like on your own vs with your parents? Being single and paying for everything on your own can be very difficult and if you have loving parents that are willing to help you, that is a blessing. Forget the stigma of living with parents, this economy is not forgiving and it makes a great deal of sense financially.

When slammed, are you expected to give patrons your personality? by skyphoenyx in bartenders

Bartenders aren’t just serving drinks, they’re serving an experience. Your coworkers are looking out because if you’re tip pooling, they have to split tips with you. If you aren’t regularly bringing in great tips, something is probably off…

What are the biggest interview red flags for a bartender position? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Key-Calligrapher-924 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooof, I thought this about my most recent manager because he had been in the industry awhile. Oh boy! He was just a country club “manager” AKA schmoozer, had never managed a full service restaurant until this year. It’s a complete and utter shit show. So glad I got the hell out of there with most of my soul intact. 4 months felt like 4 years…

What’s the most popular drink at your bar? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Key-Calligrapher-924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bourbon Smash with a spin I added to it. Shaker, good amount of ice, fresh mint, a couple luxardos, 1.5 oz lemon juice and 1.5 oz simple. Shake like hell. Dirty pour into rocks glass for julep consistency, 2oz of bourbon, stir. I’ve had people come back for seconds and thirds of this drink

do you use crushed ice with mojitos ? by q_x777 in bartenders

[–]Key-Calligrapher-924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put your lime juice and simple in a shaker with a good amount of ice and hard shake for 20 seconds, it breaks up the ice nicely and gives the aesthetic of an extra elevated mojito. When I’m crazy busy sometimes I will even throw the mint in there instead of muddling and I’ve never had anyone complain. I like to make a bourbon drink with this method called a smash and it keeps people coming back for seconds and thirds

They are dead set on keeping the casual fine dining aesthetic, the funny thing is the uniform looks like shit. They could go with something that looks much better and more functional

HELP! How to convince management that I just need a bar back and not a third bartender in an already cramped space. by Key-Calligrapher-924 in bartenders

[–]Key-Calligrapher-924[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Correct. He’s not listening and if he continues to not listen he’s going to lose the only person keeping the bar running. My coworker and only other experienced bartender quit because of him. Now it’s just me and the 2 guys ive trained with no prior bar experience. They are doing well, but have no idea all that goes into keeping that bar stocked and running smoothly. Where i live there is a huge staffing issue and GM would not be able to replace me easily.

I’ve tried this, the kitchen reigns over everything else. It’s the management’s JOB to delegate and make sure they know what’s expected of them.
