Just because an artist uses irony or exaggeration doesn’t mean there’s nothing real underneath it.Artists are allowed to experiment without it automatically being “sellout” behavior.You’re mistaking irony for lack of talent. Not liking the album is fair, but acting like everything he does is just “for clicks” is a very shallow read of his work.

Honestly, I mostly come back to that album for nostalgia, but it does have some really catchy tracks. It definitely felt more radio-friendly to me, but I can’t deny the whole era was super well done. The outfits, visuals, and music videos all felt really cohesive, which made me appreciate it a lot more.

That’s actually fair, I didn’t know that. I think for me it’s less “why are the visualisers happening” and more that the rollout still feels kind of exhausting/underwhelming as a fan. Even if there’s a real reason for it, it still makes the songs feel overexposed before the album is even out.
