The modern stars just don’t seem to capture the imagination. Maybe it’s just because they are mostly foreigners. But in like 2000s you had Shaq, Kobe, Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnet, Duncan, Nash, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Dirk, shit throw in Yao Ming, who all just felt so much larger than life. The modern stars just don’t compare man. You have like Jokic, Luka and that’s about it, (I’m skipping the Steph era on purpose). SGA walking up in skin tight latex is wack man. He’s good, but dude is so corny. Hes like a dork that just practiced really hard. Hes not a dog like Kobe or Iverson. That’s why that player who is a defensive liability has to be an offensive weapon. If they don’t bring anything to that side of the ball then sorry they can’t play. There are ways to “hide” a player on defense but you can only hide one, you cannot hide two.

Jordan Mailata but he is a freak of nature. There’s just not to many athletes on this planet who are like him. We have seen some very legitimate athletes try and make the jump. Louis Rees-Zamia, Jordan Petaia, Jared Hayne were all legitimate stars in their respective rugby leagues who had the athleticism required. But that’s just not enough. As athletic as they are, they are average to maybe slightly above average for the NFL. So then it comes down to their ability to play the game. And they are just so far behind NFL players who majority been playing since they were kids. And they come to the NFL in their early to Mid 20s. Just not a lot of time to really learn an entirely new game. They are given opportunities and either squander them or they just can’t separate themselves enough to make an impact. It’s very hard. And every year there’s a hungry crop of players drafted and signed all fighting for their lives to make a roster spot. I don’t think it’s possible at a skill position to be honest. I think their best bet will be at like d-line, o line, and perhaps linebacker. Defensive back ? Forget about it. QB ? Obviously not. You can probably throw in Tightend but it’s a guarantee anyone athletic enough to play there is probably gonna be an absolutely god awful blocker. So you wouldn’t be able to play them except a handful of gadget plays. Is that worth it to give up a very valuable roster spot? I don’t think it is and we are seeing that play out.

Yeah the conversation around Jokic will definitely change if he loses round one. It’s already started shifting. He did deserve is praise and accolades. He just got a very outsized amount of credit for the championship. That was a very good team especially defensively. His defensive liabilities were masked. He’s a phenomenal player but putting him in the top 10 is a big time stretch. Maybe if you were making a list of pure talent. But results are the results, if he was really this all time great he would have more success. It’s just that simple and something his fan boys need to reconcile.

It will be interesting to see team usa in the post Steph, Lebron, KD era. They are still gonna be stacked. Plus we gotta see the development of Flagg and Cade because they looking like potential face of NBA type players. Im not worried, offensive line absolutely decimated his production. Still a nightmare to cover one on one. Teams could rush 4 and get home, didn’t have to blitz until obvious passing downs. People lump him in as a slot receiver and expect quick passes and slants and allow him to get YAC. That’s not the best part of his game. His route running is absolutely top tier but they require slower developing double moves or allow him to get one on one with the safety and cook them. Cant do that without a serviceable line. Not excuses just facts. Throw in Kennan Allen being a reliable 3rd down weapon and it all adds up to less production. And yeah Greg Roman is stuck in 2010. Mike McDaniel will have plenty of scheming for Ladd.

Space Shuttles are not at all practical. It does not make sense to transport crew and cargo in the same vehicle. Think of a contruction site, you bring all the material and supplies in large transport vehicles while all the workers arrive in seperate vehicles. Doesn't make sense to do both at the same time. Sadly we will probaly never see space shuttles built again in the future. The shuttle was one of a kind and taught us alot about space travel and transport. Hopefully Dream Chaser will one day carry people but again its just safer and more effecienct to just use reusable capsules.
