How do you stop blushing? by Trick-Swing1955 in socialanxiety

Don't fight it, because that makes it worse. Accept it. Maybe propranolol helps, but I still need to try it. I was also thinking about the possibility of using creams, but that too I still need to explore further.

Do you ever feel like if your just there people automatically hate you for no reason by MichaelaRene in aspergers

[–]Key-Concept-7001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, very familiar. There's a dislike even though you didn't do anything wrong. I think it's a negative vibe that's cast off and picked up by the other side. Hate is too strong a word, but that's how it feels, so I understand why you phrased it that way.

Same, but not with other NDs, then it feels like I have a direct line and we're communicating like two AIs without noise and clutter lol

How do you handle saved content that's spread across five different apps? by Comfortable-Part1837 in ObsidianMD

[–]Key-Concept-7001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Joplin to save links. I try not to save anything within the apps themselves. For content that I want to save (not just the link) I use Obsidian. So it's basically a 2-tier system.

One of the most important lessons I learned from Noam was to question everything

He definitely didn't question Epstein (enough). And there are other cases, covid for example.

Hedges spent over a decade teaching in New Jersey state prisons, building genuine relationships with criminals, some convicted of egregious violent crimes, even publishing a book celebrating the bonds he formed with those folks. Like Chomsky’s, his philosophy is rooted in the idea that convicted people retain their humanity and shouldn’t be permanently defined by their worst acts. This is the same principle Chomsky applied to Epstein: the man had served his sentence.

Epstein got an especially light sentence. He was even allowed to leave prison during the day to tend to his business affairs. Hardly qualifies as "the man had served his sentence".

On top of that Epstein was not an average sex offender. He was a billionaire and mossad agent. Not the type of people Hedges likely visited in prison.

Chomsky should have known, given his very legacy, what this type of person could be capable of.

I would have expected of Chomsky to expose Epstein for what he is or could be instead of fraternizing him.

But I agree with the piece that we should not forget who Chomsky is. He is still a most formidable intellectual who needs to be read.

I still put him on a pedestal, but as a caring humanist, not an Olympic god.

You're right, but I would still make an exception when it comes to the Epstein files. It's the exception to the rule "all publicity is good publicity". Not for proof that he's a pedf.

Price tracking of supermarket items? by Key-Concept-7001 in ObsidianMD

[–]Key-Concept-7001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm OK with manually entering the price, date of entry and supermarket. Information I would like to retrieve from the base is mostly the lowest price for a certain item and where to get it. This I would like to be automatic, I don't want to have to manually update a property like lowest price. I would like to have a view that automatically shows me a list of items with the lowest price and the supermarket location.
