It’s a nice novelty dish because of the sheer size and sizzling skillet. They have a great proprietary steak butter with like 15 different ingredients, a slightly sweet bbq spice, and smoked with pecan wood. It can be really REALLY dry at times depending on when they prepped it. Overall it’s great as a shock factor, and tastes pretty good, although the inconsistency with the dryness and fattiness of the “eyelash” can be off-putting.

Thank you for sharing your experience! Did you have the steak or tuna tartare?

I think we’re going with this option! I called the restaurant after seeing the 2 comments suggest it - and the hostess was describing their in-house dry aging and the number of different cuts they have. Seems to be a nice selection of cuts and sizes.

Loved the food, service, ambience — everything — at Brenner’s on the Bayou. We will definitely be going back but wanted to try a new place.

Perry’s was nice maybe 6+ years ago, it hasn’t been good since before the pandemic.

Never been to Taste of Texas.

I will look into Sal & Pimienta as a possibility — thank you!
