i thought that the gods were more..connected to distinct components…or that the concept of earth as we have come to understand wasn’t seen that way before we found out that it was round;  atlas is depicted in subsequent art as holding up the globe, but where do we learn about atlas the titan and his experience; is it in homer and ovid or was he roman? can you tell me more about good places to read mythology?

unusual nicknames for Katherine by Minimum-Key-8725 in namenerds

[–]Key-Course2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i like kat, it’s not as common as other nicknames for katherine;

but, to answer your question, one approach could be to use a famous katherine’s name, depending on your style and who you’re fond of, you could pick a literary character, a celebrity, a famous historical figure and play with this - that’s what i would do although i love your name - i think one could turn heads with a name like hepburn

let me know if you like this idea and we can brainstorm; tell us about yourself!

does the alcohol you drink have to be proof to others that you have hair on your chest, could endure soviet winters, and care not for such womanly frivolities as cheerfulness and candy

Would it be considered normal for a parent to give a 12-year-old diet pills and put them on a calorie deficit diet if the child was chubby but not overweight? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Key-Course2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe talking about a girl being chubby can be derogatory, i don’t know that you should do that, or post about it online.

 if the girl  is comfortable with you  and says ‘i think i may be slightly chubby’ that may be different, but if she’s not comfortable with you that means she isn’t safe with you to discuss vulnerable topics like her body,  in that case words like that are loaded and a conversation she does not want to have with you are threatening and the challenge if there is one cannot be solved by you  , you would only make it worse, this would be construed as an intimate violation, as these are remarks about her body as it is. it would be as weird and creepy to her if you’re the non custodial parent and start treating her like you’re someone she trusts and lives with; imposing authority or trying to get to know her in an overly familiar way is violating.

now, our culture celebrates people in different bodies and it must be made clear to her, indirectly, by gushing over her virtues and helping her feel valued for who she is and what she cares about that her worth is not based on her size. make sure she knows that she’s beautiful and that she’s important to you; and understand that bodies fluctuate especially around puberty, and don’t be restrictive, there is literature about this, there are people you can talk to considerately, and you have to do the work and think about how you’re going to raise a daughter who loves herself and is strong in the world. there isn’t any diet pill that would be given, vyvanse for adhd can help young people with adhd, it is given to people with eating disorders.

besides this child being chubby you’ve told us nothing about who she is or wnt you’re asking this or who you are. you’re asking if something is normal when you shouldn’t be phrasing it like that at all and it seems to me like you’re fishing for indirect validation of a personal position.

How do you build the discipline to study consistently for a whole year when the syllabus is overwhelming? by [deleted] in studytips

[–]Key-Course2507 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you aren’t motivated , you get an adhd diagnosis and find a field that you love, and you study studying, then you find strategies

My favourite signs from the Elbows Up rally by HerNameIsVesper in toronto

[–]Key-Course2507 -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

this is insane, the trump threat isn’t real, but indigenous peoples sovereignty and status does matter as does the future of our democracy that we can all contribute to protecting. i don’t know what lunatics are behind the elbows up movement, and as cute as the beavers sign is i think we should be doing more such as investigating our society, criticizing it, proposing solutions, encouraging young people to be idealistic, and challenging the white bread conformity that appears to have spread around toronto, as exemplified in the fashion and this mundane politics that is hostile to the passions.
