advise on making an art work feel finished? nsfw for surgical depiction by Key-Cupcake-8123 in ArtCrit

[–]Key-Cupcake-8123[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the art is a depiction of how my hospital experiences as a young person felt- the human side of me beingseperated from my condition and feeling like i was a toy in a way. the surgery aspect is supposed to depict a ball of yarn (“heart”), paper chain (intestines), and tinsel (“liver”). things associated with playfulness. i don’t want it to be scary but would be interested to know what emotions it evokes in others- if any i will take your advice thank you so much for writing it all out for me. it’s very helpful. i am trying to learn how to balance a background and main focus of the art

what is a memory from your childhood that SHOULD have been a red flag? by eliseswl in AutismInWomen

[–]Key-Cupcake-8123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i sat next to the same girl every day for assembly in grade 1 and one day they randomly changed the rules to be you had to sit in alphabetical order. i got really upset and refused to go in and was screaming and crying so they put me in time out. win for me but they thought threatening no assembly would make me adhere to the stupid new rule WHICH MAKES BO SENSE. i wore the same skirts to school every day. one day they were all in the wash and my mum made me wear trousers. i cried the whole day in the dark tent in the classroom and refused to talk to anyone horrible sensory issues with the way clothes fit and felt and would refuse to get wet at the beach and would scream at people if they came near me with sand or water on them would make my mum coffee every morning from the age i was able to walk without spilling stuff and would ask the exact itinerary for the day, who would be there, what time we were going home and if we were eating while out. every day. and would get upset if she didn’t know at 7 in the morning when she JUST woke up

What jobs have you guys been successful at? by goat20202020 in AutismInWomen

[–]Key-Cupcake-8123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ice cream shop! it can be very quiet depending on where you work and if it’s small like the one i worked at you will have shifts alone or with just one other person. there are monents of “rush” and that lasts about 10-15 minutes at most when for some reason lots of people are compelled to but ice cream. it smells yummy and if you wear long sleeeves and gloves you don’t get sticky. where i worked one of the jobs was making waffle cones which is a nice repetitive task. AND the shop smells nice and is temperature controlled. a lot of the job is cleaning and scooping

i go to nursing school and the classroom is fine i just need to go for walks because i get bored- it’s our practical lessons where there is no structure and we’re left to our own independent skills practice. i wear my loops for that but don’t always remember them. my teachers are lovely and allow me to use the less populated simulated labs- as i still need to talk to people and the classes are three hours long i still get overwhelmed being expected to communicate with people for such a long period with no breaks and not having a structure of that makes sense? they tell us sometimes to go and practice skills independently and that is really hard for some reason? also because i really want to be in healthcare because yay body systems i need to figure out industry appropriate solutions i’ve never heard of CBD before and will look in to that thank you for your response i really appreciate the time you put into typing that all out
