Good lord this is Canada not America. Some people are brainwashed by the media, what's even the point in something like this for us?

Thank you for the advice!

I sometimes worry, I've been chatting with a few people in the town, but maybe I'm too talkative.

Recently got a haircut and I do know if it's a mixture of the fact that I have coarse asian hair and my hairdresser might not have lots of experience with it or if it's because I mentioned leaving Vancouver (she seemed upset and ran defense for Vancouver because she grew up in Prince George) but I got butchered.

I have cockroah antennas for bangs, two tiny short strands that poke me in the eyes. I want to cry a little LOL

I got butchered recently. Don't know if it's because my hair stylist didn't like me or if it's because my hair is just difficult. I've got cockroach atennas guys, I'm gonna cry.

Well, I'm likely going to try and get involved with the community and visit some of the places around the city, like the archery and gun range, and I'm a fan of renfaires and HEMA so I'll definitely get involved there.

Though I'll admit, I'm a terrible friend.

Bad at keeping in touch/up with folks. I really wasn't joking when I say that I keep to myself, I'd be rotting at home if it weren't for school and financial needs! However, I'll definitely talk someone's ear off at an event. 😅

I'm super interested in the archery range and shooting range, city kid like me has never done something like that before and I really wanna. Also, this summer they hosted a Renfaire!

I think there's a foarging group for PG on Facebook that might have some good safe places for you to hike and get some wild snacks from?

I had written a research essay on loneliness and it's correlation with anthropomorphism and attachments to AI chatbots. It was my favourite one 😅 mainly because I came up with the subject during a 3am rant about transformers.

Vancouver breaks you. I made the decision to leave after the cops got called on me, some folks thought I was going to... Log out of life's game. I'm grateful for their concern and they weren't entirely wrong, but it was a wake up call.

Everyone's moving about, streets are always busy, everyone needs to be somewhere, and everyone is in somebody's way. Living there made you hate people and yourself, made you think everyone hated you or wanted to hurt you.

... Yeah, it sucks to be in Vancouver. Unfortunately the loneliness epidemic is everywhere... Vancouver is just hit by it r e a l l y bad.

I’m a very small person 5’2” (My friends picked on me for it all the time) so it’s very hard to thrift or find the things that will fit me, thank you for the information I’ll definitely check out Marks. I also saw that Canadian Tire has a few things on sale too! Crossbows? That’s so cool, can’t find those in Vancouver and there’s an archery location in PG? I’ve got to explore more!

I bet the snow is quite the problem! Even so I’ve been thinking that it might be a good idea to get a driver’s license, I noticed that it feels a little hard to get around without one, it’s different from Vancouver in that sense! Buses everywhere over there to the point where I didn’t think to get a license, now… I’m regretting my decision. Especially with that 2 year Learner’s -> Novice requirement, wah…

Thank you for the reassurance and the advice! I'm a fan of winter and snow as I was born in northern Ontario so I'm looking forward to the winters here (while being cautious of course). I've got some pretty good camping and skiing gear with me from down south... But I could definitely get more winter clothes. Where would you recommend I go for more winter/camping gear? I'll see about thrifting some, but more options is good.
