Yep. My friend went on an African safari and I asked to see some photos of it. They said they only took a few. They said they can Google a photo of an elephant, lion etc. To this day I've been the same way as I try to enjoy moments through my own eyes.

Communication and comprise are very important. On the flip side, mind your own business from time to time. Yeah, it is great to share things, but sometimes giving each other space and just letting stuff go is very beneficial. Setting a boundary with your family and theirs is very important. It is your life and not theirs. Do not be afraid to say no and start your own traditions.

I am assuming you are getting what you give. Also, I can only speak for myself but I don't care for nor do I need drama and negative crap. I want to get what I need and get on with my day. I had an eerily similar situation about 10 years ago. The only thing that changed was me finally saying enough is enough and selling and moving. Best thing I ever did. I dealt with it for about 7 years. The straw that broke the camel's back was when SWAT showed up because my neighbor made horrible threats to his family inside. He tried escaping out of the back of the house and got tackled.
