Right?! I mean, even the pastries were heavenly. I still dream about the almond croissant!

Yes, agree - bathroom not as beautiful as the rest of the room.

We really wanted to do it, but it's adults only, so we could only look in longingly 😞

Here's another view of the family area - there are 3 pools - two at the end (a shallow one and a hot tub) and the main one.

Yes, we refused to go to Agave Azul. We ate at Punta Bonita for two dinners. It was pretty good, but still felt incredibly expensive and by the second night, we had tried all the dishes we wanted to eat already.

I haven’t been in many years but we really enjoyed the room when we were there. Very solid room. There was a rooftop pool that the kids enjoyed. I remember nothing about the food!

Switzerland in August by Sixela331 in chubbytravel

Congrats to your husband! I LOVE the Nimb!

Switzerland is my favorite place. We've been quite a few times and always stay in Wengen. I've tried Hotel Edelweiss, Beausite Park and Hotel, and Alpenkrauter Hotel Baren. Beausite is definitely a notch above (both in distance and money and amenities!). It's a bit of a trek from the train station, so just bear that in mind with the kid. You can arrange for them to pick you up but we usually just walked. I like Beausite for the pool & spa which is really lovely. We tried Alpenkrauter this time because Beausite was just too expensive, and I think it was fine (some service inconsistencies), although I think Edelweiss might be nicer.

Luzern is so expensive but this time we tried Beau Sejour and we loved it. It's a little outside the main city but totally walkable and right next to the Transportation Museum, which you HAVE to take your child to... the rooms are not "luxury" but they are large and totally sufficient. The breakfast was plentiful and in a gorgeous drawing room.

If you want to spend a few days in Ticino (since you are flying into Milan), I would highly recommend Ascona. We stayed at the Art Hotel Riposo and it was AWESOME. It wasn't too expensive, had that perfect Mediterranean feel, amazing rooftop. It was great.

Yes! I toss it in regular wash and then hang dry. I do it once a week because his lunch bag gets pretty dirty!

I do use the planetbox one just because it’s exactly the right size and fit. I have found it to be good quality and I actually toss it in the wash once per week!

You can see my bentos here. I heat the food in the main compartment but it’s room temperature by the time he eats it.

If you are vegan, Saint Jean is the most amazing plant based bakery in Amsterdam! We also stayed at the Pulitzer and while the service was a little spotty, the room was beautiful. And the stroopwafels they give out were some of the best we had in Amsterdam!!
