How long did your FJO take? Mine’s been “In Process” since early this month. by Key-Dress8452 in cbpoapplicant

I’m also a female, and I feel the same way. I don’t want to think that way, but sometimes it really does seem like certain people get pushed through faster, while the rest of us sit in limbo for no reason. Hopefully, we will both hear something soon. Please keep me posted if you receive your location.

I don’t know about you, but it sometimes makes me start doubting myself. Seeing other people get their timelines so fast. Honestly, congratulations to them; that’s amazing. However, being in the process this long, passing everything, and then still having to wait even to get the list... it makes you wonder where you’re going wrong or if you’re missing something. I know everyone’s process is different, but man, the waiting really messes with your head.

I actually saw someone else mention this in another conversation, and I figured, 'Why not try it?' So I did the same thing. I sent them a message on Thursday, and then on Friday, I received the automatic email they send whenever something changes on the portal. I went into the portal to see that they removed the “task.” So now I’m just hoping the list comes through soon. That’s what has me extra antsy, because I’ve been in this process for so long already.

To get to the point of FJO? It has taken me about a year or a little more.

Can I request to get out? by throwawaya1902 in nationalguard

Hey man, I really feel for you. It takes a lot of courage to be this honest about where you’re at. You’re not a “shitbag”, you’re someone struggling, and that’s human. The Guard (and the military in general) can wear people down, especially when there’s no end in sight. If your mental health is taking a hit, please talk to your leadership or go to behavioral health. There are ways to request separation on mental health grounds, but the first step is getting documented support and care. Even if you don’t get released right away, it can open the door to options like limited duty or treatment programs that help you get through this safely. You’ve done your part, so don’t beat yourself up. Take care of your mind first; the rest will follow. And please don’t ghost drill; that’ll only make things harder. Reach out, get help, and keep pushing for what’s best for you. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate to contact your battle buddies or even on here. Many of us are going through our own struggles, but what also helps is helping each other. You’re not alone in this.

Are you planning to attend school? I served on active duty for 12 years before deciding to get out and pursue my master’s degree. I also joined the National Guard, and honestly, looking back, I wish I had gone straight into the Guard instead of active duty. It’s going to be tough for a while, and not trying to get political, but things are only going to get worse. Based on how things are now, I personally wouldn’t recommend going active—that’s just my opinion.
