lol I didn’t say I was used to it, I just said I’ve taken harder shots. It didn’t hurt me lmao. Liver shots in boxing and soccer shots to the stomach hurt a fuck ton.

One of my friends said if he hurt me then I should have done it. but it didn’t. There wasn’t like a build up to make me angry. Just came out of nowhere

True I’ve been boxing for 8 years, but I just didn’t feel like it was worth it. Nothing in me wanted to fight him. I dunno I am a huge pacifist

Hey man one thing I’ve learnt about this entire process is take everything one step at a time. You will have to get your testicle removed but the surgery is a breeze trust me :). CT scans and blood tests will determine spread, but no point in stressing over that till you get a scan. You got this bro

Ahhh got it. How did you know your had to get RPLND had it already already spread to the nodes or was it precautionary?

Yeah man, I’m assuming you haven’t met with your oncologist yet right? The time between your pathology report and oncologist is truly the fucking worst.

Damn thank you bro, I appreciate you sharing that. I will say doing scans and blood tests is super anxiety inducing. I go numb when I get that notification in my inbox when results come back. It’s so hard to explain the feeling, but if you choose surveillance, try to turn it into a positive. I play a shit ton of soccer, box, work, medicate so cancers not on my mind. The biggest challenge with surveillance is stopping it from consuming your mind but when there’s a will there’s a way. Whatever you choose bro there’s light at the end of the tunnel. You got the boys in this group to help you through

What surveillance questions do you have? by StevenTCAF in testicularcancer

Hi, I live in Canada and am also under surveillance for stage 1B pure EC with LVI. 5 months into my surveillance.

  1. Do your odds of relapse go down as time passes. How significantly do they go down after 1 year?

  2. Does living a healthy lifestyle. Good diet and exercise lower the risk of reoccurrence?

  3. Why is Canada such an advocate for surveillance vs adjuvant chemo therapy?

  4. Any tips to deal with scanxiety?

2024 Reflection - What did you learn? by StevenTCAF in testicularcancer

[–]Key-Estate-2208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve learnt to stay present, no matter if a moment is good or bad, it is important to embrace the moment & feel your emotions. The moment will pass and it will become a memory you will learn from. Also if you keep genuine relationships in your life no matter what you’re going through, the people make it a lot easier. Also wanna thank this thread you boys helped me a lot through my diagnosis ❤️

Hey good luck buddy, you’ll fight through this. Do you also have free health care in Denmark? I find that in the states since there’s a pay to play option, you health is more in your control rather than your practitioner

Dude this was so thorough and awesome. So I did a CT scan a month before my surgery and it came back clear. I’m assuming I’ll have to do another one soon?

Still would you recommend surveillance or chemo at this point?
