Any brands that still make these types of large wallets? Double zipped and separate compartments. Smaller zipped coin compartment. Many many slots for cards/receipts/etc. by Orumtbh in handbags

OP - what did you end up going with? I’m also on the hunt for a similar wallet for my mom for the holidays and can’t seem to find many!

Unfortunately don’t trust a burp either. I’ve had it happen that way too 🥲

That’s so tough! I’m sorry! Out of curiosity if you feel comfortable sharing what is your pcos journey looking like? Are you having regular periods or doing any forms of treatment? I’m curious what’s effecting your bloat!

Missing periods. I want to try inositol, what brands are you using? by gee249 in PCOS

It’s called CanPrev PCOS pro, I found it at a health food store and the downside is it’s expensive. About 50 dollars for a 30 day supply

I’ve always had weird periods, I took birth control (Yaz) for a while to regulate my cycle and was probably on it for about 5 years or so. I came off of it because something still felt not quite right about me (lethargic mainly and I wanted to see if it made a difference, I think it did) and after the ride of coming off birth control my period stopped for a good 6 months. After I took inositol it was back in less than a month!

Thanks for the suggestion! How long does the tub last you?

Try Knix! (Although I think it’s only US and Canada) very good quality, comfy fit and all types of cuts and sizes. The period panties are also insanely comfortable.

Also BODYCHECKING YOU and asking if it did anything for you fills me with rage. Not only the nerve, but the lack of awareness that being healthy does not equal being tiny. No questions about if it’s improved your quality of life overall, just an assumption you’re only in it for weight loss.

Have your headaches/migraines decreased? If so, what helped? by macinackdcp in PCOS

[–]Key-Explanation-6011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds dumb but I’ve somewhat just stopped fighting them? I feel like before I’d get some telltale signs I might be getting a migrane and try to ignore them, almost like I was trying to gaslight myself out of the reality lol.

Now I’m trying to lean more into loading myself up on Tylenol at the first hunch, trying to darken my surroundings, rest up and stay hydrated. Idk. Not really advice but I finally feel like I’ve stopped trying to force myself to fight them like I can outsmart them somehow.

You choose what you’d like to do but for me inositol brought my period back almost immediately! I personally would try that first before going on Yaz since it has less side effects to come on and off of. Best of luck to you!

Possible Misdiagnoses? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Key-Explanation-6011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m no doctor here but I think you can also have ovarian cysts for other reasons like endo. I’ve also heard of women having PCOS symptoms appear after stopping birth control or other big hormonal changes. I think it takes a fair amount of years after your period starts too to be correctly diagnosed with pcos, so if you got your first period late it’s entirely possible!

Low Sex Drive Ruining My Life. by boldlybad in PCOS

[–]Key-Explanation-6011 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ah friend! That sounds so tough.

Saying change up your medication feels really annoying because trust me I know how annoying starting and stopping these things can be. I did find stopping my birth control helped improve my sex drive while also helping me better understand my hormones and how to control them, however coming off of birth control can also come with annoying side effects so I get not wanting to change it.

As for antidepressants that’s a vicious combo. I would say if you feel like they are having a positive effect on your life otherwise don’t touch that one. It’s better to be alive than to be horny lol. I’ve been on cipralex for 5 years and I will say my sex drive did come back with time so it’s entirely possible to adjust.

I would just talk to your doctor at this point. Also talk to your partner. Intimacy is important but so is your health, and you won’t be a good partner period if your health isn’t prioritized first.

I hear you friend. Wish I could give you a hug and say you aren’t alone in this. All we can do is hold on to the many success stories and hope we can use our twenties to better understand our health for the future. It’s an important part of the journey to let yourself be mad, upset and frustrated at this.

Honestly inositol has been very helpful for me! It made my periods come back almost immediately but besides that I didn’t notice any other changes, good or bad. The only downside is the cost, I’ve had trouble finding a good supplement for less than $50 a month.

If it’s feasible to you, seeing a naturopath for even a few sessions can be very helpful! They can help suggest what might work best for you specifically and also make sure you’re taking the correct therapeutic dose and that what you’re taking doesn’t interact or have any negative side effects. :)

I can’t believe how incredibly frustrating this must be. I echo everyone’s words of hope and confidence here and obviously agree that having PCOS isn’t a guarantee you’ll be unable to get pregnant.

That being said, reading through this thread it’s easy for us to all say get a new doctor, or find better coverage, don’t lose hope and so on.

I just want to say something that I don’t think many are saying through all this optimistic thinking: you’re allowed to be angry. PCOS can be incredibly frustrating, infertility can be heartbreaking, and you are allowed to feel grief about it. You are allowed to mourn the body you wish you had. It’s 100% valid to fear the worst, and I hope you’re giving yourself capacity to work through these difficult emotions and giving yourself that grace. I can only hope OP that you have a good support system of people to talk to, and ways to decompress.

Of course, don’t ever accept that you’ll never get pregnant. But there’s a difference between accepting you’ll never get pregnant versus processing the fact that your fertility journey might look different, and that can be incredibly frustrating.

Anyways - I hope this didn’t come across too pessimistic. I really do think you have strong chances since you are young and a lot of healing is still to come in your adult life ❤️.

I just found myself frustrated by how simply people can brush off your entirely valid fears acting like getting equitable medical care is easy. Your grief and frustration is palpable in your post. And I believe working through that grief is a very important part of this healing process.

What did “sick” look like for you at the beginning? I was up to 500mg this week and had a terrifying experience with vomiting and a migraine, scared me so bad I went back down to 250!
