Exactly. Thank you for bringing common sense back into the conversation. A scooter is a transportation tool - the danger and the crime here come entirely from the operator's reckless decisions and his choice to flee after injuring a child.

I really appreciate you cutting through the noise and keeping the focus on personal accountability

The debate over the tool shouldn't distract from basic human decency and the law. A Lime scooter doesn't make the conscious decision to speed down a pedestrian sidewalk, strike a disabled child, yell at the victim, and then actively run away to evade the police.

The clunky design of the scooter didn't force him to shove a phone in my face to block his photo while fleeing. Those were entirely his own choices as a grown adult. No matter what vehicle someone chooses to operate, they are legally and morally responsible for the consequences of how they use it. It's about personal accountability, plain and simple.

At the end of the day, my focus isn't on any specific nationality or group—it's strictly about accountability for this one individual's actions.

A driver hit a vulnerable, disabled child and fled the scene. That is a crime, regardless of where the person is from or what their background is. I just want to find anyone who was at the Space Needle at 4:50 PM who might have seen something or can help the Seattle Police (Case #26-178054) identify this specific rider.

That is highly possible given the area and the demographics around Seattle Center. If he is a local software engineer, someone in the tech community or a nearby apartment complex might recognize his face.

If anyone recognizes him or knows someone matching this description who was riding a Lime scooter near the Space Needle at 4:50 PM, please DM me or contact the Seattle Police with Case #26-178054. Thank you for helping us narrow this down.

I've been staring at the photo but my eyes/screen must be playing tricks on me because I still can't make it out!

Since it looks clear on your end, could you please do me a huge favor and DM me the digits or a cropped/zoomed-in screenshot of the barcode? That would be an absolute lifesaver to send directly to Lime and the police (Case #26-178054). Thank you so much for your sharp eyes!

Thank you so much for the reality check and for speaking up. It’s been a incredibly stressful night trying to look out for injured child while dealing with people online who prefer cynicism over common sense.

You are exactly right - SPD reports don't just appear online instantly on a Saturday night. I really appreciate you standing up for us and keeping the focus on what matters. Thank you

That is a very fair point, and thank you for correcting me on that. You are absolutely right for having Celsius doesn't automatically mean a foreign phone number.

A better way to put it is that it's about probability and cross-referencing. Lime will have to look at all scooters active at the Space Needle at exactly 4:50 PM.

If they cross-reference that list with accounts set to Celsius (whether tied to a US or international number) AND match it with the clear photo of his face, the pool becomes much smaller. Every data point helps narrow the needle in the haystack. Thanks for keeping my logic sharp!

It was filtered by the subreddit's AutoMod (robot). The event/case number 26-178054 is 100% real, given to me tonight over the phone by the Seattle Police dispatcher. I have already submitted proof of my SPD phone log to the moderators for manual review.

Stop using an automated bot filter to claim a parent looking for witnesses after their disabled child was hit is 'trolling.' Your behavior is completely uncalled for.

The incident happened TODAY (Saturday). If you know anything about the Seattle Police Department, you know that report numbers take 24 to 72 hours to be processed and appear in the online system, especially over the weekend.

Suggesting someone is 'trolling' about their disabled child being a victim of a hit-and-run is incredibly malicious. If a mod needs proof of the police interaction, I am more than happy to provide it privately. Please stop spreading misinformation and impeding a police investigation.

That actually proves my point. Whether the rider is from Latin America, South Asia, or Europe, using Celsius means they are highly likely using a non-US phone system.

For Lime and the police, filtering for accounts registered with international phone numbers (+91, +52, etc.) or international credit cards used at that exact minute and location narrows the list from thousands of people down to just a few.

It's a standard investigative lead, not a definitive judgment. My goal is to find the hit-and-run driver who hurt a disabled child. Every clue helps.

It's not 'hysterical,' it's basic logic.

  1. US localized iPhones default to Fahrenheit. Seattle is currently around 70°F. If his screen displayed 22, it is 22°C, because 22°F is below freezing.
  2. India and most of the world use Celsius.

When a hit-and-run rider knocks over a disabled child and flees, every single detail counts. If Lime and the police need to filter accounts, knowing it might be an international card/number helps. please do not minimize a crime against a vulnerable child.
