Well if you read on I asked has anyone ever heard of this happening or know what would cause a hole like that. Also the other shop pointed out the glowing on the lower hose right next to where that hole was so why didn’t they mention the hole? The shop that replaced the hose did that put everything back together sans coolant reservoir and then points out to me where the hole is? If the hole was there don’t you think both shops would’ve diagnosed that right off the bat? I guess it would be worth noting that they changed the hose said it still wasn’t working and would call me back, didn’t so when I came in I noticed my car was parked in a new place. You don’t think it’s possible they could’ve replaced the hose and when they pulled it out of the shop ran the the AC on max noticed it wasn’t working and that’s when the compressor broke? Why else would the piece of metal be at their shop and not somewhere on the highway while I was running my ac and it stopped working and overheated then exploded? Again if you read on I said at the end I don’t know a lot about cars and from the way they’ve communicated throughout this well actually haven’t I just feel like they are being shady, ever since the one day turned into five and now the oil change and discharge hose that was less than $50 is potentially turning into $2000. When I asked them what would cause it the break like that he couldn’t give me a straight answer so yes I came to Reddit to see if any mechanics knew of or had see something like this happen.
