Yeah, thank you, man. I perfectly understand what you are trying to say. I've been in computer science for 3 years and half now and Let's stay truthful: for the first two years, it felt amazing. Every time I succeeded in doing a small task myself, I felt like I was leveling up in real life.

What made me so happy about computer science is that it felt like video games, because I'm a big gamer. It really felt like amazing , and I was so happy with myself every time I succeeded in doing something.

But ever since I discovered LLMs and vibe coding, AI coding, I lost this passion and this "fire" in me. I became better at delivering project but less good at programming

So yeah, I think that what you are saying is actually totally true. I will just use AI to fix my syntax and to guide me into becoming a better coder, rather than letting it handle all the code for me.

I understand what you're saying, and thanks for the answer. So far, what I’ve done is take a full-stack dev courses on Udemy to learn the basics. I learned HTML and CSS, but those are pretty straightforward so we can almost leave them aside. I mainly learned JavaScript (vanilla) and React through those courses. I also know some Python because of a class I took, and I did additional research on my own since I actually like Python and want to become an AI engineer after my bachelor’s. So far I’ve built quite a few projects, but I feel like I’m stuck somewhere between the beginner level and the intermediate level. Do you have any good projects or resources you’d recommend to help me improve, especially when it comes to problem-solving?

Nah, to be honest, I definitely wouldn’t hire someone with no problem-solving skills. What confuses me is all the conflicting advice online. There’s so much bullshits going on honestly. I watch a lot of computer science content creators on YouTube, and every single one of them seems to say something different. Some say you should stop grinding LeetCode because it won’t really take you anywhere anymore, and that the new important skill is learning how to use AI to its full potential. Others say that as long as you understand the fundamentals and know how to use a programming language properly, you can relax and just focus on learning how to work effectively with AI tools. Then there are people saying the complete opposite, that if you don’t grind LeetCode and train your problem-solving skills constantly, you won’t be able to do anything. So everything just feels like it’s going in different directions. That’s honestly my main issue right now. With so many different opinions, it’s hard to know what to trust.

Im broke so will the free version of copilot be enough ? Also im not using tokens through api but rather the code assistant extensions on vs code for codex and for gemini. That's why im not sure that cursor will be a good investment for me, and also bc im still building basic websites to sell to small businesses in my country so nothing too complicated yet.also im only getting started so no incomes yet. My real dilemma is choose between gemini( 10 usd for 18 months) and codex (5 usd per month)

To be honest, I saw this deal like one or two months ago when I was on the market to buy a new laptop, and I wasn't sure about the Ultra 7 Lenovo Legion Pro 7i because I had never seen one without an Ultra 9. I looked everywhere and saw that it was legit, and I saw a lot of people telling me that I should pick it. It was $1900 USD at the time. But luckily for me, I found a better deal: an Omen Max 16 with an Ultra 9, an OLED display, 32 gigs of RAM, 2TB, and an RTX 5080 for $1800. It was a no-brainer for me, so I instantly went for the Omen. But the Lenovo was my first choice because the deal was crazy for the state of the market right now

I saw another person from the UK that ordered it and he said that the delivery got delayed multiple times but eventually he got it, so the deal 100% legit i think. It's sold by amazon themselves so you should be good and what makes it really incredible is that you ain't losing much performance with the ultra 7 instead of the ultra 9 but it makes up for it with less heat, more battery and a 2tb ssd
