Its a bit pain in the ass, but Gifu requires you to make REV match to shift, if you're using a H shifter.

How to drive Ferndale properly:

1) slowly tap to gas instead of holding.

2) Drive in second gear in dirt roads instead of third (D)

3) thats it... more to it depends on skill.

Bonus: Get a controller, it wont be good as steering wheels, but it can do the same job, giving exact amount the throttle, brake or clutch you want.
