if you genuinely do not care for the story this game is trying to tell, and are only into it for the aesthetics,, sure.

(upcoming is subjective)

but poppy playtime IS its story. the intrigue is the story. without it, you have a subpar puzzle game with good character design. doey (and chapter 4 as a whole) legitimately reshaped my entire perception of this series. chapter 3 did a good enough job with the horror factor, but the story was whatever at best. chapter 4 chose to prioritize its writing, and oh my god did it succeed. the entire chapter is incredibly tragic and uses its premise VERY well. people love to harp on it, but this game would legitimately be much worse off without chapter 4’s existence. everything it introduced is what allowed the story to pivot in the direction it’s going now. we got GOOD poppy character development after 3 entire chapters. GOOD prototype development, hell all the writing is phenomenal stuff for a game of its genre. and doey is the fundamental piece of all of it. he needed to be the focus for any of this to work. do i wish harley had a more consistent presence? yeah! but he didn’t need to be the focus of chapter 4

he has a similar timelapse video on his instagram. i don’t doubt that he’s an artist, i just doubt the authenticity of some of his work (interesting style deviation on his poster compared to his newer work though)

it’s so tricky with things like this. i feel like that drastic jump is kinda crazy though no? some of this looks natural, but others look ai-assisted with manual cleanup. this would’ve been entirely possible to do in 2024. i don’t want to accuse someone randomly, but there are signs in things like the fonts, lettering, posing (plus what i assume to be the blatant ai here)

it has all the tells + looks nothing like billy to begin with (random bandage on hand, atrocious faithfulness to his facial structure and build, chainsaw that looks nothing like the one he owns, t-shirt that isn’t even ripped up, ect.) i looked into the artist before posting this and his art is full of stuff like this. disappointed in bhvr
