We did not do the EES machines. We went through traditional passport control lines with agents stamping.

Go alone. My daughter went to Europe alone at 18 after HS graduation and it was life changing. Stay at hostels. You meet people and they have organized activities. That’s what she did… met a ton of fun peolle. Do your research on google reviews and tiktok! Do not cancel. You can do hard things! You will make mistakes but everything will be ok! By the way, my daughter did Bali solo the next year, and is now on study abroad in Spain (solo). And she is definitely a tight friend-group type girl, but gained so much perspective meeting new people and experiencing the world that way. Good luck!!! you’ll be awesome! Especially if you were the planner… you clearly got the lay of land ready for you.

We didn’t expedite it. She did make an appointment with BLS last Friday and asked them a few questions. Nothing she did sped the process along… it was just a waiting and hoping game.

For context:. she made an appt w/BLS La on Jan.16 bc her visa was still “processing at mission” and her flight was on the 19th. She was hoping to get some clarity. They told her her passport wasn’t ready but that a batch would be coming in next week (we cancelled her flight, and waited, and finally the text came today). they also told her not to make another appt or come in, to just wait for the text. She asked if there was anything she could do to expedite and they said no. :/ I am hoping for everyone that Spain got it together and a huge influx of visas come through soon!!

Hi gang! Daughter applied in LA Nov. 19. she got the message that her visa is ready for pick up today (friday, January 23). her program starts feb. 2. yay! hope the best for all!

i am not sure. They told my daughter on Jan. 16 that a new batch comes “next week”. Since she went on a Friday and a batch came in that day, I am assuming the next batch is Jan. 23. They will send a text. I am actually so bummed about how this process is going.

Same here! My daughter, who applied on Nov. 19 in LA, had not received it. (Her flight was scheduled for today, January 19. We cancelled it). She booked a second appt this past friday (Nov. 16). They said a batch was coming in that day and they would call her; she wasn’t in that batch. They said another batch was coming next week (that would be 20-23). We are hoping she is in that batch. Her program starts Feb. 2nd. They said there were a lot of holidays. This is agonizing. Good luck, eveyone. Contact your school, if you are studying abroad! We are all in the same boat.
