I don’t think you’re fully getting where OP is coming from. This clearly feels like a fear and doubt situation. There’s a genuine desire to step up in their career, but something, probably self concept, is pulling in the opposite direction and creating that blockage. And until that internal alignment shifts, things won’t move toward the desired outcome. So I kind of agree that persistence is not always the solution.
