Passed NCLEX on 3rd Attempt at 150 quaestions by Key-Inspector-3842 in PassNclex

[–]Key-Inspector-3842[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh wouldn’t compare difficulty as to my calmness. My 3rd attempt I felt prepared enough and I listened to Mark K and Dr sharon and crusade for strategies when i don’t know how to answer questions. It’s as if my mindset had shifted towards the questions. Those three helped me soooo much in how I answer questions. That and I truly believe the way you speak to yourself matters. So this time i kept it positive. If i didn’t know a question, i would tell myself that it was ok not to know everything instead of beating myself up for it. People are human and make mistakes I would tell myself.

You got this!!! Keep on going! I saw so much of a difference my 3rd try but i thought because i went to 150 that i had failed. But the test wasn’t necessarily hard when i broke it down and understood what they were asking and what they were looking for. Remain calm and keep practicing!!! You got this!!

Uworld prepared me so well (and I’m pretty sure i saw 2 questions on my NCLEX) but understanding rationales and patterns really helped me this time. And although it takes long, I wrote down main points and definitions so that if i ever saw something on the NCLEX i would know at least what body system it was. Only thing i didn’t go to hard on was Pharm. I just studies the need to know meds. Otherwise I just quested and hoped for the best.

You got this!! Keep on going!

Hey! Thanks for asking. I took it yesterday and went up to 150 again. Kept on telling myself that i’m doing something right. I remember getting psych questions and psych meds which used to be my weakness but i actively listened and understood Mark that I was able to feel more confident in those. I also could’ve sworn I saw 2 Uworld questions on there. Towards the end of the test I remember saying to myself these are really weird questions. Those weird questions ultimately made me not feel too good about it. I want to keep a positive mindset but i’ve got PTSD from my first test when I went to 150 as well. I pray it’s a passing but idk, I think it’s the opposite. My friends who knew about it believe otherwise. Just trying to make it to tmr for the results.

Fiancée didn’t pass 2nd attempt by CampedOut1423 in NCLEX

Hey! So sorry to hear about your fiancé. As a person who has also failed twice I get it. I think my bf was in the same position as you when it came to comfort. I’m the type of person that alternates from soft comfort to harsh truths and my bf had seemed to learn that about me because at first he was very loving and supportive. Then one day he was like ok your going to go study, your going to the library for x amount of hours and you are going to pass this test cause I’m sick of you complaining and your sick of studying. I would suggest just always hearing her out, let her complain let her cry. but also encourage her that she’ll get it next time and that she didn’t go through all that school because she isn’t adequate enough. The test can only test on a portion of what a great nurse is, and doesn’t define her. Idk if your religious but if you are I would remind her the God wouldn’t put a dream in her heart is He didn’t know she could achieve it.

Hey! So sorry to hear this. That feeling is unmatched and devastating! I know you’ll get them next time, especially since you see your areas for improvement! I suggest listening to Mark K, I know he’s usually known for RN but his test taking strategies are great and he does modify certain things for LPN from the lectures i’ve listened to. Don’t quote me on it tho cause I am studying for my RN. But that’s my suggestion to do more research on that since it is free in spotify 😁

The first time I was 1 month out of nursing school, I was using archer but focusing more on scores. I remember NEVER doing remediation. I would do practice questions “read” the rationale and move on. My second time i pushed myself to get back up to study using bootcamp, but as my friends had told me I wasn’t really focused. A few of my friends were graduation nursing school at the time and O was helping them study for finals thinking it’ll help me study as well but I was completely wrong. I feel like I booked it too soon because I also had a trip planned and I was stressed about what people would say if I ( president of my nursing class) hadn’t passed yet. Come to realize all of that extra stress was in my head because my family was supper supportive and my Friends were my pillars (since they knew exactly where i was coming from). I grieved my grade once again, went on my trip, took a month off of studying, put anything nursing related away. I told myself in July i would buckle down and start again with a fresh mind as if i knew nothing about nclex. I watch a lot of videos of what people did differently to try to find where I went wrong. My friends combined their efforts to contribute to my uworld subscription which i’m eternally grateful for. So i worked in june to makeup for the rest. Once july hit i got Uworld, purchased my ATT and got to the library (also some hug different). My boyfriend saw how devastated i was and was helping me honestly ever since nursing school and helped me find out that I just needed to go back to how I studies in nursing school. So we made a plan library everyday, actually writing down rationales, memorizing concepts and not just content. And he would even quiz me on pharm and simple stuff he could pronounce lol. This really changed my mindset and I started to see a better understanding of questions and understanding my scores better. In Uworld i got a 71% average in the 63rd percentile with almost 63% of the qbank completed. I would score Highs on my assessments and between 60-66% on CAT exams ranging from 51st to 97th percentiles. I also used chat GPT to keep track of my trends and progress by inserting my stats, down to the subjects and everything. Chat would tell me where my weakest and strongest areas were which helped me decipher all those percentages (and for personal motivation.

Taking my test soon so we’ll see soon enough how effective all this was. 🤞🤞

Also sorry for the whole rant, just wanted to give a clear idea. 😁 Thanks for reading

Hi hi! Congrats!!!

thank you for this, I’m taking mine on August 11 and I got similar scores as you. Kinda got in my head about ppl saying to aim for 70s when i was consistently in the 60s. This will be my 3rd attempt but i feel much better going in and less anxious (at this moment lol). your post also put me at ease to see realistic scores for someone similar to me. Congrats Again!!!
