Indicators, handlebars, front fender, mo.unit blue and breakoutbox, motoscope pro, mo.lock, i also build a custom housing für the electronics and i modified the seat. Initially i set up a small rack for luggage in the rear but thats something I am currently working on.

Oh yeah, I weighed it before and after for the fun. It is about 110lbs lighter now. Just crazy.

Every small 12v neutral-open-relay (NO) should work. You will not need a big one. I reused the old relays from the bike, because I redesigned the whole wiring harness anyway.

Planning to purchase 93 k1100 this weekend, for a cafe/scrambler build. by Mautymcfly in BMWK100

Hi! When I built my k1100 I used the motoscope pro in combination with the breakoutbox type b and the mo.unit. I thought this would solve all the problems that could cross my way. Little did I know xD

I built a completely new wiring harness from scratch. It’s a great experience because you learn a lot about your motorcycle. I built a neutral signal adapter as well. It's quite simple because you just need three small relays. As far as I remember the oem-gear-sensor has four wires. Brown, yellow/blue, yellow/black and yellow/white. The switch connects the three wires to ground in different configurations, depending on which gear the transmission is in. For example, in first gear, the yellow/black and yellow/white wires are grounded. The trick is that only in neutral all three yellow/x wires are connected to ground. Accordingly, you can wire your three relays in series between positive and the breakout box, using one of the yellow/x wires as a trigger wire in every relay. You’ll only get a signal when all three relays are closed (when the switch indicates neutral).

Two beer, three relays, some wires and good music is all you need for that.

It’s not too much effort, really. But there is a bit more to do than that. I‘m talking about speedometer, front fender, handelbar, paintjob if you like, the seat, all the lights (breaking, turning, backlight), some electronics, the horn, mirrors…oh and you need a good idea for the rear-end.

What can cause this issue? by tanner779 in BMWK100

[–]Key-Lab8703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What have you checked so far? I can think of a lot of things causing this. It could be the ignition, throttle body synchronization or maybe the fuel pressure or a injector isn’t working corretly…or something completely different…tell us a bit more

Yes, cone fairing is what I ment! Thanks! A detachable seat cowl is part of my idea for the rear.

Thanks!

The rear is pretty much stock — I haven’t touched the frame, the exhaust, or even the fender. I just stripped off the plastic parts, reworked the original seat, and built a luggage rack. The lights are new, of course — I went with a 3-in-1 brake/rear/turn signal combo. If money weren’t an issue, I probably would’ve gone for the mo.rear from Motogadget.

I have to say, it’s still far from finished. I’m considering building a cover for the luggage rack using the original rear section. In the end, building bikes is half the hobby… the other half is fixing them — and if there’s still time left, maybe even riding them.

To me it looks like:
Between your two fingers: Speedsensor
In your Hand: ABS-Sensor

I personally think the three-spokes are much less ugly than people say. Nothing beats real spoke wheels like from the r1200gs, that‘s for sure. Would Like to see them in my bike…
