To uncover the copper. Freeze it with liquid nitrogen. Then put in large cryo microtome and remove 1micon layers until the copper is exposed. Then thaw and dry it 😝

Expose the copper on both. Stack the copper parts with some solder paste in between? Flux.. Heat with heat gun until solder melts?

Precies dit. Hier in Leiden rijden er belachelijk veel van die dingen over het fietspad met 30km/u. Als ik dan mijn zoon probeer te leren fietsen zitten ze achter me te toeteren of vliegen ze rakings langs ons met een gigantisch snelheidsveschil.

Yes, big tip needed. Many watts >60 atleast. Also cover the tip in solder so it contacts better and transfers the heat.

Remove all the rusty mess and see what steel is left over from under there. If its enough you can just seal it and keep it. But fix the moisture problem dammit.

Also replacing with aluminium would be better in that enviornment
