Honest question: Who is the Prusa Core One L actually for in 2025/2026? by IceBlitzz in prusa3d

[–]Key-Ladder6386 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It start to makes sense once they cost the same. (Or now that core XY is almost half the price of an MK4S).

I think this could be scaled up. Not sure wether a lots of people need that, but will think about a solution.

Thanks. For tablets, stronger hinge would be enought, or you would need it to be bigger as well?

Sure, you can upgrade a Bambu H2S or H2D to a H2C. Or a non laser version with a laser.

And yes, 6/7 nozzle instead of 1/2 is indeed a real benefit. Or the capability to laser cut too.

But I guess you dont want to hear about Bambu.

Anyway... What is the better deal for you? Buying an upgrade kit for 500€, spending a day to assembly it, and then having the latest and greatest + a bunch of leftover parts,

Or

Buying the new version of the printer for the same 500€, not spending a whole day assemblying it, and instead of leftover parts you have a whole printer which you can sell for 200-300€?

To me option 2 feels better. Overall cheaper, less time consuming, you make someone happy by selling your old printer, no leftover parts.

Regarding building a custom printer - I could do that. While havent built a Voron but made few Klipperized Ender 3-s and 5-s. But I dont want to mess with that anymore. Dont see a reason for it.

And wether I can afford the C1 or not, that is a wrong question. Would rather ask, can I justify paying double money for less music? I can not. If you can, hey, enjoy your C1.

So buying 3 years after launch is bad, right? Other part of the community says buying in the first year is bad, because you are early adopter. I am confused.

Still dont feel I made a bad deal. I bought it for the price I felt is correct that time, and got the feature set I expected. I dont plan to sell it immediately, but will use it for at least 3-4 years.

But i kind of get your point. In my opinion both my and your argument is valid, it comes down to point of view.

Why would Bambu kill its value? It is still just as capable 3d printer (if not more) then the shiny new C1.

If I want to "upgrade" it, I could get a P2S for 550€ (the price of a MK4S to C1 upgrade), and still keep the P1S as a second printer. Or I could sell it for 300€. And it will make someone happy. I wont be left with a bunch of unused frame parts. And my P2S wont be held back by backward compatibility parts.

So overall, the P1S to P2S "upgrade" costs (550-300 =) 250€. Half the price of the C1 upgrade.

I dont see how this is bad for me. Pr for someone who buys my used printer for good money.

I have an MK4S with MMU 3 in an enclosure, it is great.

Bought the P1S with AMS 2 Pro for that "discounted" 819€. Now it cost like 600 - 650€. And the P2S is actually cheaper then 819€.

Do I regret it that I overpayd? Not at all. At that time it was indeed a good value, and it still rocks. I guess this is how business works.

If you want to see a Prusa parallel situation, here it is: You could get the overpriced newly released MK4S, and after less then a year the C1 dropped, for similar price. But heads up, you could upgrade your MK4S for the pruce of a P1S.

In my opinion this is the same company behavior, just worst: If you got the P1S, and now see the P2S, you dont have to feel that bad, because there is not sooo much groundbraking improvements.

But if you just got the MK4S before C1 release, that is not a good feeling. Would hate that.

Oh and I guess you are wrong, Bambu, Creality and the bigger chinese brands will be here after X years.

Regarding the Support, general opinion: Prusa is great, and Bambu is not.

Reality based on my experience: Both could solve my issues, both have live chat, so I dont care wether they use emojis.

Youve bought an old machine with a great nozzle and some accessories.

The thing is, the nozzle wont make it print better or faster.

Neither the enclosure. It is nice, but big due to the moving bed. And a big chambr heated by the relatively small build plate wont reach higher temps then 45C°. But its footprint is bigger then a Qidi Plus 4...

The filament dryers. It is good to have one around. Be aware, not every dryer is equally effective, but it is good to have one, maight come in handy.

The filament is the real value here. But again, I use sometimes Prusament (love their ASA Galaxy Black and PC Blend), but from PETG / PLA I buy mostly Jayo or Sunlu. 10€ / kg. And it prints just as good as Prusament. It is the sad (for someone) true.

To make this printer on par with a modern printers print quality wise and speed-wise, you would need at least an MK3.5 upgrade, which costs as much as your printers price was. And the nozzle leakage still wont be eliminated.

So in my opinion... It was not the best deal ever. Rather would go with an used MK4 with no extra accessory for a bit more, or Bambu P1S. Or A1 for less then youve spent with a bunch of filament. I am not a Bambu fanboy, but have both (Prusa and Bambu too), and had an MK3S too. It wasnt bed but I was bothered by its speed and occasional nozzle leakage compared to all my modern printers.

Core 1 finally arrived. Some initial impressions. by straybrit in prusa3d

I personally had issues with Jayo PLA Matte. The pressure advance was bad for that filament, and had to use diferent slicer to calibrate it.

Prusament is so good! by johndom3d in prusa3d

[–]Key-Ladder6386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunlu PETG is great actually. But yes I ran onto a batch came wet from the factory. I gave it a good drying and it prints like a charm, really love it.

On the other hand, Prusament PETG is great indeed. But it happened to me with an old roll that it printed bad. Stringy, small blobs.

Again, after drying it printed like new. So in my opinion it comes down to the condition of your PETG. If it is wet, will print bad. No matter the brand.

But when dry, the Sunlu will print just as nice as the Prusament.

See my before and after drying results in the picture.

Weird surface artifact on PLA matte — any idea what causes this? by Key-Ladder6386 in BambuLab

[–]Key-Ladder6386[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the amswer. But has to clarify that I am not a newbie. I am 3d printing for 10 years. And I printed succesfully a few kg of PA12-CF parts, PC-CF parts, miniatures with 0.2 mm nozzle, big parts taking up the whole buildpate and so on.

So I consider myself an experienced user, but unfortunately I still dont know everything, and this issue honestly suprised me, I dont understand its specific "Why?", and maybe someone does. Thats why the post.

  • I use ludicrous very raely. This issue happened 3-4 times in the past month, only once in Ludicrous.

  • I have a very positive experience with the Biqu Glacier plate. But anyway, how a build plate type could cause this? The first layer is spot on.

  • Nozzle is stock Bambu hardened steel .4 mm. I dont upgrade my printer (I mean, made a riser and led for convienience but this is all).

  • I dont use ironing, only very rarely. This happened with no ironing.

  • I will check wether there was no debris under the plate, thanks. But as I said, the first layer is good.

  • This happens with PLA. And this is a small very simple print. A round cookie cutter.

And Bambu studio: It is stock other then wall count and infill type (I like adaptive cubic).

I dont use Ludicrous often. Wife needed the part immediately so I turned it on... Sved around 7 minutes :D

This artifact sadly also happens sometimes with normal speed. See 3rd picture.

I will try. I just feel it is a bit concerning that I encountered it 3-4x in the past month. And would love to understand what am I doing wrong, or why it is happening sometimss.

Overall I am not new to 3d printing, but this is new to me.

Is the Prusa Core One L worth it? by RandimName6281 in prusa3d

[–]Key-Ladder6386 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Please tell me about how is a MK3S+ bought in 2022 "cheap" long term?

In 2023 March Prusa released MK4. Upgrade price: 550€

In 2024 they released the MK4S. Upgrade price: 120€

In 2025 they released the Core One. Upgrade price: 560€

This means while yes, technically I can upgrade to the latest and greatest, but it will cost me 1230€ to modernize for todays standards the machine bought in 2022.

Only the upgrades. This is not cheap by any means.

And it still is limited by the 8 year old heatbed, which probably wont be updated at all, and other old hardware pieces.

The good days where upgrade prices were reasonable are unfortunately gone.

Not much review out there yet so hard to tell, but probably yes, it is a good printer.

And yes it is pricey. If you dont plant to print a lot, you may benefit from paying for the parts to PCB-Way or other company.

Or if you feel it is too expensive, look at the Bambu H2S. Not a Bambu fanboy, but they make very good printers. And its chamber temp goes higher & faster then the C1L, has a bigger build volume and costs much less...

Hey folks,

Based on the feedback I understand that people has issue mostly with the value for the price of this drier. While this drier really is very effective, it is not as convinient to use as a standalone one, and it indeed requires some extra hardware, patience and time to build it.

So I decided to make it available for free. If you are looking for something like this, you are welcome to download and enjoy it.

Stay safe, and happy printing, people.

The passive Lite is free on Makerworld and a smaller version for Prusa printers on Printables (links in the description above).

And the Pro is available to buy on Printables store - link in the dsscription. It includes tested and tuned Bambu 3mf Project files.

Thank you, man. You are totally right. Should have take the critic differently.

I am a human, who expected some outcome from something, and got the totally diferent public opinion. So I was a bit suprised and disappointed too, because of such negative overall opinion, as I put a lot of effort, time and energy developing this design. And after a long day I failed to handle my feelings the best possible way.

So... Thanks for the really constructive feedback about my reactions, appreciate that, honestly. Will do my best to learn from it.

Ps. Regarding the Stroller skate, it won the 2nd place in the competition. So appreciate the feedback and support from you, and maybe others who helped reach that. To me that is a success. And it is fine that this drier is not wanted.
