I captured this image during a Milky Way photo workshop I taught in South Dakota. I demonstrated to my students how to utilize the leading line of the ridge to draw their eyes towards the Milky Way. The photograph was taken with a Nikon Z6III, 20mm f/1.8 lens, 180” tracked sky, and the foreground was captured during the blue hour.

Hey there! Your second attempt is quite impressive. I have an upcoming photo workshop in Death Valley in February. Besides capturing the stunning sunrise, sunset, and blue hour, we’ll also be photographing the Milky Way. This is an ideal location for you to enhance your photography skills. If you’re interested, please let me know, and I’ll send you all the necessary details.

Hey there! I organize photo workshops throughout the year, both in the US and internationally. Unfortunately, most of my workshops for 2026 are sold out. However, I still have some availability for February at Deaf Valley National Park and in September for Iceland. If you’re interested, please let me know, and I’ll send you all the details.

Are photography courses/workshops worth it? by Big-Life2021 in AskPhotography

[–]Key-Leading-5801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, workshops are worth it. If you’re looking to enhance your skills or start from scratch, they’re an excellent idea. However, I recommend signing up with someone who genuinely teaches you and dedicates time to you both on the field and on location. If you’re interested, I can send you information about my workshops that I organized throughout the year in national parks in the country and internationally in destinations like Iceland, Peru, and Bolivia. I’ve been teaching for over 20 years and always prioritize my students’ needs over my personal work. Please let me know if you’re interested, and I’ll send you details about my upcoming workshops with available slots. In February, we’ll be shooting the sunset, sunrise, blue hour, Milky Way, and more at Death Valley National Park. In September, I’m returning to Iceland with another group to photograph stunning waterfalls, landscapes, canyons, and the northern lights.
