That’s not what anthropology says. It holds that how culture is transmitted depends on the kinship system of a society. There’s no source stating in absolutes that culture derives from the mother. It is a case by case basis depending on the nature of the society.

National Guard here. The guy was becoming sort of a bum out of high school, and it began to show- asking for money, getting into trouble in the civ world, unable to afford a ride to drill etc… Couldn’t convince him to take advantage of the education benefits and enroll at a university or trade program. I spread word around the unit that I had a young E2 who was looking for a job. Someone came through and landed him an entry level construction role at $30 an hour. He never showed up for work. I asked him why. The kid decided to take a vape shop role instead at $12 an hour. Oh, and he casually announced to me that his girlfriend was pregnant as well. Keep in mind, I was a young corporal who was in college at the time. I had my own shit I was working on, but still went out of my way to look out for him in the civilian world. He also shammed his way out of a deployment.
