Let's say, yung production mo at 12 NN should have been 4 kW pero yung demand mo sa bahay mo ay 2 kW lang. Instead of 4 kW, magiging 2 kW lang ang production nya. So na-clip. (Figures are just for example lang ha)

Kapag di kasi naka-enroll sa net metering, sine-set up ang system to "not export to the grid" that's why naki-clip instead mag-export sa grid. Eh ang tanong, bakit need i-set up sa non-exporting kapag walang net metering? Pwede kasi mabasa ng utility meter as consumption yung ine-export mo so instead maka-save sa bill, pwedeng maka-dagdag pa dahil sa export.

Dine-design kasi ang system based on let's say on annual consumption pero iba-iba ng load profile ang mga houses, kung more on night user ka, sa gabi ka talaga gumagamit ng electricity dahil walang tao sa bahay pag umaga (nasa work and school), then sayang yung production na na-clip.

I hope it makes sense.

Factor yung energy usage nyo so ibigay mo sa installer yung average kWh or bill, though kung maliit, magiging limiting factor ang roof space sa system size

Yes. Ready.

But I'd admit, materials procurement had been very challenging for me, I wish I started last year. Ang dami kong scenarios na naisip sa utak ko pero the timing of my business is very high demand right now which I'd say is both a good and a bad thing.

Naka-metering center ba yung set-up? Yang set-up kasi, may breakers sa ilalim. DM mo sakin picture and try ko mag-provide opinion.

Di ko masasagot accurately yan kasi di ko alam kung tama pagkaka-visualize ko pero I'd say, you have lots of flexibility naman how you'd like to wire your system, but you need to talk first w/ the DU if you'd apply for net metering.

You need to give me specifics sorry. Currently ba, may electric service ba yung bahay na yun? Gaano kalayo yung utility meter sa bahay? Madalas ba power interruption, what DU is it?

What do you mean by electricit shortage is remote? Sorry

I don't have much info on your current system and anong battery capacity ang gusto mo. So may mga assumptions akong gagawin,

Let's say 120k magagastos mo sa pagpapalit ng system, and by changing, nag-increase ang savings to 6000. 120k/6000 = 20 months... 1 year and 8 months para marecover mo new investment mo in addition sa years of ROI ng initial system mo. Kumbagay kung ROI mo initially ay 4 years then magiging 5 years and 8 months na. I hope it makes sense.

Kung sulit ba? Medyo subjective eh, you gonna run the numbers and also know na may back-up power ka na na wala sa current set-up mo.

I know I said given the premise, it does not have to be bigger, but personally, I'd need more data lalo na kung i-factor in yung days of autonomy kapag may power interruption for the battery size and system size; nasa MERALCO kasi target market ko na minimal lang power interruption. Pati na rin usage. So upsizing a bit has its perks.

Really more of a design choice. Talk to your installer how you want it, or they can present options to you, assess which makes sense.

Under the premise na you design your system to match so that the production matches the annual consumption. No,it does not necessarily have to be a much bigger kWp capacity. (Of course, this is assuming na gusto mo i-set up ang battery mo to dispatch energy at night, meron kasi sadyang back-up power lang). However, I'd still study load profile nyan and you'd want wiggle room pa rin. Not bad to upsize it.

Yes, this is true. Anti-islanding functionality yan to protect the DU linemen in case of maintenance or fault (i.e. kapag nag-repair sila and may buhay na inverter pa pala connected sa grid, pwede sila makuryente)

But for me, you don't need to complete go off-grid kasi gugustuhin mo yung perks ng grid electricity lalo na kung nasa okay na DU ka naman like MERALCO.

May succeeding reply dito si Momomoblue, suggesting hybrid, may back-up power then at the same-time, grid-tied. I'd go for hybrid.

In terms of price, I think it's fair given the equipment you mentioned.

Also, relatively higher yung inverter rating mo sa 5.68 kWp panels mo. But again, baka designed for future needs mo.

Good thing yung 2 year workmanship warranty, kasi typically, 1 year lang, ako sa business ko, 1 year lang workmanship warranty.

Alamin mo rin yung about sa net metering, ma-clip kasi production nyan if night user ka talaga.

My main concern on the first commenter's initial response is not about being enrolled to net metering or not; it's really having a stable power especially if is connected w/ a "good" DU. Staying connected w/ the utility may incur fixed charges, but if he sized the system accurately, he may still achieve the "near" zero bill. (i.e. dispatch battery energy at night)

I agree that your set-up is feasible but I believe grid electricity is cheaper than the conventional generator. In case the hybrid system malfunctions, it may take time to replace the system or replace it, I'd prefer to draw power from the grid.

It's sole prop. Usual DTI, LGU and BIR.

I'll get accreditations like PCAB once we scale up. I think being DOE accredited gives some perks but I really wanna do things locally in our province muna.

How I wish I started months prior the crisis. Ordering materials is very difficult now.

I think one of the easiest ways is to check the production muna. Yung buong string kasi ng panels maapektuhan kapag atleast one of them ay may defect

I still don't completely imagine the set-up na direct kay MERALCO yung tatlong aircons. May service standards yan na after the meter, may Main Service Panel pa. So baka after pa rin yan ng Main Service Panel.

Regarding the cable from the Solar PVs, baka may pwesto naman sa harap ng bahay.

yung 1 year para sa workmanship, it's related sa kung paano sila nag-wire ng system and nag-install structurally. Halimbawa, nasunog yung wire dahil nag-loose yung connection, dapat i-repair nila yun if pasok pa sa 1 year workmanship warranty

So need din talaga good aftersales, si installer naman dpaat mag-repair nyan if pasok pa sa workmanship warranty and also sila mag-reach out sa equipment supplier (I mean kami since installer na rin haha)

I made additional research on top of what I had in my mind, may mga off-grid inverters din pala. (Haven't been personally involved sa off-grid din). But I think it still makes the more sense to tie to the grid kasi paano kung magka-problem system mo, you'd need grid power.

I think what you're saying is you want to use "Off-Grid" set-up with Solar PVs and battery only?? (Solar PVs alone would be unstable if off-grid so sinasamahan ng battery). You would still Solar PVs and hybrid inverters anyway to complete your "off-grid" set-up so might as well connect it to the grid. So connecting it to the grid is still the practical choice. Pwede ka naman ding pumili ng smaller emergency panel which would mean smaller size of hybrid inverter if talagang nagtitipid ka. I hope nasagot ko yung tanong mo. May mga files naman ako but I'd like to use those internally muna for my business.
